My name is Tran Bao Ngoc (born in 2000, residing in Huong Khe commune), and I am currently a makeup artist at Lux Studio (Thanh Sen ward). To date, I have been working in this field for over 6 years. This is my familiar "travel companion." My makeup case goes everywhere with me, containing brushes, palettes, powders, and all the necessary tools for my work. Today, I have a makeup appointment for bride Cao Thi Loan (from Huong Khe commune). Before starting, I usually spend time chatting with clients to understand how they want to look on their special day. The first step in makeup application is skincare, a step I always take carefully for my clients. Because when the skin is well cared for, the makeup that follows will look smoother and more natural.
During wedding season, the number of clients increases by about 50%, and sometimes I have to work in rather cramped or crowded spaces. However, as long as there is enough light and equipment, I am still confident in completing each step of the makeup process. On average, each of my makeup sessions lasts about two hours, including steps such as: skincare, foundation, concealer, contouring, eye makeup, blush, lipstick, and styling my hair to suit my face. In the makeup process, the most challenging step is perfecting the base layer. When the base layer is applied properly, the skin becomes smooth, even-toned, and maintains a natural look. Applying eyeliner is a meticulous process. Eyes are considered the "windows to the soul," and even a single well-chosen line can make the face look more expressive. Each client who comes to me has their own unique story. Some are preparing for a memorable party, some want to preserve their youth through photographs, and some are brides-to-be awaiting the most special moment of their lives. For me, makeup is not just about beautifying the face, but also about enhancing each person's unique beauty. Working in this profession, I've learned meticulousness, patience, and responsibility in every small detail. Makeup artistry not only provides me with a stable income but also teaches me to appreciate the value of beauty. The moment a customer looks in the mirror and smiles with satisfaction always makes me feel that all my efforts are worthwhile. It's also the motivation for me to continue honing my skills and cherishing the work I'm pursuing.
