The first is Visa's flexible credential solution. This solution comes from Visa's research results showing that more than half of card users want to have access to multiple accounts with just one credential. Therefore, Visa's flexible credential solution aims to allow a card product to flexibly switch between payment methods (such as debit or credit...), depending on the cardholder's choice. In the Asia- Pacific region, Sumitomo Mitsui (Japan) is the first bank to apply this solution under the name Olive. In addition, the flexible credential solution is now available in the markets of Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. According to Visa's representative, this year the financial services company will continue to bring new "tap" payment methods on mobile devices. For example, tapping the phone turns any phone into a POS payment acceptance device; tap to confirm identity when shopping online; tap to add a card to a wallet or app; tap P2P (person-to-person money transfer) to send money between family and friends… In addition to tap, Visa also said it will provide a “click” to pay solution that allows users to avoid having to manually enter card information, or go through a complicated verification process on e-commerce platforms. With this method, consumers can complete online transactions in just a few clicks by selecting their registered Visa card type to pay. The click-to-pay solution helps streamline the process, providing a more seamless and secure payment experience. In addition, in many markets in Asia - Pacific, Visa said it will work with card issuers to enable the click-to-pay feature on newly issued Visa cards, simplifying the process of manually entering card details and passwords from the moment the card is delivered. According to Ms. Dang Tuyet Dung, Director of Visa Vietnam and Laos, innovation is at the core of the development of the payment sector, which is considered the foundation for promoting economic growth. In the face of this trend, the payment ecosystem has a great opportunity to jointly shape the user experience. “The most important thing is that the parties cooperate and coordinate closely with each other to bring more value and positive impact to consumers, merchants and local communities,” Ms. Dung said.
Using Visa card saves the trouble of carrying cash
At the Visa experience booth during the 2024 Cashless Festival, the summer festival atmosphere prevailed when the brand's blue design was combined with the yellow of the coconut trees and the white and pink of the cool ice cream counter. Joining the 2024 Cashless Festival with his mother, Thai Thien Phuoc was attracted by the Visa ice cream counter. Ms. Le Thi Tuyet Mai (District 10) used a Visa card to pay, buying a cup of coffee-flavored ice cream for only 16,000 VND, a reduction of 60,000 VND compared to the original price. "I use my Visa card regularly, it saves me the trouble of carrying cash, especially when going abroad, it's very convenient," Ms. Tuyet Mai happily said.
