Desperate Palestinians flee Rafah as Israeli tanks enter the area

Before the evacuation, Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city on the border with Egypt, was home to 1.4 million Palestinians displaced from other parts of the territory. Now, however, most of them are displaced again. According to the health ministry in the Gaza Strip, more than 35,900 Palestinians have died since Israel began its offensive on the enclave. So far, 24,686 people have been identified, 60% of whom were women, children and the elderly.
