French-Vietnamese man finds relatives after 13 years of losing contact

On the morning of November 12, Tan Thanh Ward Police said that the unit had just received information and supported Mr. Bui Hoang Tung (born in 1977, French nationality) to find his aunt, Ms. Duong Thi My Nga (born in 1963) after 13 years of separation.

Previously, at around 10:15 a.m. on November 10, Tan Thanh Ward Police received information from Mr. Tung about support in finding relatives. Initial information from Mr. Tung said that his family lost contact with his aunt, Ms. Duong Thi My Nga, since 2012 because his family moved to France. Currently, his family does not know where Ms. Nga is or what she is doing.

Thanks to the support of Tan Thanh Ward Police (HCMC), Mr. Bui Hoang Tung (French nationality) found his aunt after 13 years of separation.

Immediately after receiving the information, Tan Thanh Ward Police assigned Captain Nguyen Bao Trung, a local police officer, to urgently verify and compare information through the National Population Data System, and directly go to the area to check the person named above.

Afterwards, Captain Nguyen Bao Trung found Mrs. Nga - whose information was similar to the person Mr. Tung was looking for, so he helped take him to Mrs. Nga's house. Mr. Tung confirmed that she was his aunt after many years of losing contact.

Mr. Tung's thank you letter to Tan Thanh Ward Police

Moved by the sense of responsibility for serving the people of the Tan Thanh Ward Police force and Captain Nguyen Bao Trung, Mr. Tung sent a thank you letter to the Ward Police.

In the letter, Mr. Tung wrote: “… On behalf of my family, I write this letter to thank the Tan Thanh Ward Police, Ho Chi Minh City in general and especially Captain Nguyen Bao Trung in particular for not being afraid of difficulties and hardships. You comrades have been extremely responsible to the people, serving the people. I wish you all good health and excellent completion of your assigned tasks.”
