The school's "Innovation Tree"
Born into a farming family, Dao Thi Hanh's childhood was filled with days spent working in the fields with her parents from 2-3 am, giving her a deep understanding of her family's hardships. These experiences helped her realize early on that education was the path to changing her life and achieving a better future.
Ms. Hanh's journey into the teaching profession began during her middle school years. At that time, she was directly taught and supervised by her Literature teacher, Ms. Hoang Lan, and her Math teacher, Mr. Vu Quoc Tri – now the school principal. Despite being young and fresh out of school, the dedication, enthusiasm, and love for their students of these two teachers left a deep impression, nurturing the dream of becoming a teacher in the young student she once was.

Currently, Ms. Hanh teaches Literature and Civic Education at Duong Quang Secondary School. During her time working there, she has had many innovative teaching methods that have been highly appreciated. A notable example is her initiative "Educating on Human Rights in Grade 8 Civic Education through Role-Playing," which was recognized at the city level in 2025.
In the 2025-2026 school year, she will continue to implement the initiative "Applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create situational videos to improve the quality of teaching Civic Education," contributing to increased interaction and creating interest for students in each lesson.
According to Ms. Hanh, digital transformation is a "lever" that helps make lectures more modern, lively, and engaging. The application of AI, interactive online games, or digital platforms helps students actively explore knowledge and increase their interest in learning.
"Teachers today not only need to impart knowledge, but also need to design activities that allow students to learn independently, think for themselves, and develop their creative abilities," Ms. Hanh shared.
Commenting on her colleague, teacher Dao Phuong Thao, Deputy Principal of Duong Quang Secondary School, said that Ms. Hanh is a dedicated and responsible teacher who always proactively innovates teaching methods and has many practical initiatives in educating students.
According to the Vice Principal of Duong Quang Secondary School, Ms. Hanh constantly explores modern teaching methods and actively applies digital technology to her lessons. With her serious and scientific work style, along with her simple and amiable lifestyle, she is always trusted and respected by her colleagues, parents, and students.
"Give way to the stage" so that students can shine.
What makes students love Ms. Hanh is not only her achievements, but also her approachable and sincere approach in every lesson. For her, the secret to creating enthusiasm in students is to make them the "subjects" of the lesson.

Instead of traditional lectures, she often begins her lessons with interactive games, short videos, or thought-provoking questions to stimulate students' curiosity. During class, students participate in debates, projects, mind mapping, role-playing, or short video recordings related to the lesson topic. She also assigns clear roles in group activities so that all students have the opportunity to participate and showcase their abilities.
"A teacher doesn't necessarily have to be the best lecturer, but rather the best designer, knowing when to step back so that students can confidently shine," Ms. Hanh expressed.
Throughout her teaching career, teacher Dao Thi Hanh still vividly remembers a special experience. That day, due to a hoarse voice, she had difficulty lecturing. Instead of being mischievous as usual, the whole class was silent, attentively listening to her lecture and constantly speaking up to "help" her. At the end of the class, one of the most mischievous students quietly gave her a throat lozenge along with a simple wish.
"It is the sincerity and innocent affection of the students that makes me love my profession even more and motivates me to continue innovating every day," Ms. Hanh emotionally recounted.

Dao Duc Duy, a 7th-grade student from the school, shared: “Ms. Hanh’s lessons are very fun and easy to understand. She often lets us discuss, play games, and role-play, so everyone is enthusiastic. She also always listens to the students and encourages us when we don’t do well.”
According to Ms. Hanh, the most important thing in building a positive relationship between teachers and students is sincerity and respecting them as independent individuals. Teachers need to know how to listen, not judge, and respect the differences of each student. In particular, for her, "a good teacher is someone who is knowledgeable, while an excellent teacher is someone with a warm heart."
Throughout her years of teaching, Ms. Dao Thi Hanh has consistently achieved outstanding accomplishments, including: Excellent Homeroom Teacher at the district level; Third prize in the district-level excellent teacher competition for Civic Education and Literature; First prize in the excellent teacher competition for Civic Education and Second prize in the city-level excellent teacher competition for Civic Education in the 2024-2025 school year. In addition to her professional achievements, she also received a certificate of merit from the Gia Lam District Labor Union (before the merger) for "Excellent in work, good at home"; and has been awarded the title of "Outstanding Emulation Soldier" at the grassroots level for four consecutive years. Notably, from the 2021-2022 school year to the present, she has consistently had her innovative teaching methods recognized at the commune and city levels.
