Major Vu Van Liem guides the people of Chieng Cam village in signing a commitment to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws.
Following the officers of the Hien Kiet Border Guard Post, we visited the family of Mr. Vi Van Dang, born in 1962, in Chieng Cam village. In his new house, Mr. Dang said that his family of six lived in an old, dilapidated stilt house. Thanks to the care and assistance of the local government and the officers of the Hien Kiet Border Guard Post, including Major Vu Van Liem, his family received support to build a new house according to Directive No. 22-CT/TU dated March 30, 2024, of the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on the campaign to support the construction of houses for poor households, policy beneficiary households, and households with housing difficulties in the province during the two years 2024-2025. Immediately after approval, Major Vu Van Liem and the officers of the unit came to help the family dismantle the old house, prepare materials, and survey the site for the construction of the new house. After nearly two months, the spacious, clean, and beautiful new house was completed.
With the motto "listen to the people, explain so the people understand, and earn the people's trust," immediately after the nationwide campaign "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" was launched at his unit, Major Vu Van Liem registered to participate and advised the unit commander to coordinate with local authorities to review and select eligible households for support, compile a list, and organize implementation. He also worked with the unit to mobilize and connect with philanthropists, organizations, and individuals to support the people in building and repairing houses; he directly participated with officers and soldiers in the unit, contributing 150 days of labor to transport construction materials to help people repair and build new houses.
With his enthusiasm, dynamism, and creativity in performing his duties, Major Vu Van Liem has repeatedly received the title of Emulation Soldier at the grassroots level, Advanced Soldier, and especially a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025".
Lieutenant Colonel Cao Dinh Xuan, Political Officer of Hien Kiet Border Guard Station, said: "Major Vu Van Liem is very enthusiastic about his work, always upholding the spirit of self-study and self-improvement, focusing on investing time in studying and researching to improve his political theory, professional skills, and expertise, finding effective methods and approaches. Major Vu Van Liem's contribution to the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Hien Kiet commune has helped affirm the role of border guard officers and soldiers in social welfare activities. He is a shining example of responsibility, dedication, and contribution, with the humanitarian significance of the movement 'The Army joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind'."
