The online space has become a familiar environment for learning, working, and connecting for young people. With just a smartphone, each person can easily share information, express opinions, and participate in community activities. However, alongside these conveniences, the spread of misinformation, inappropriate comments, and even attacks and insults against others still occur, negatively impacting the online environment and social life. Therefore, youth union branches at all levels are stepping up their efforts to participate in the campaign "Civilized Behavior in Online Space."

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Deputy Head of the Youth Union and Youth Affairs Department of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, said: “The Provincial Youth Union directs its branches to strengthen propaganda and integrate the content of building a civilized and responsible online culture into regular activities. At the same time, we encourage Youth Union members and young people to share positive information, fight against and refute erroneous viewpoints, contributing to the formation of a generation of young people with strong character, responsibility, and exemplary behavior in the digital environment.”

Over the past period, cadres, union members, and young people have actively responded to the campaign "One good news story every day, one beautiful story every week" on social media. Many units have created Fanpages and sections on their websites to spread positive information. From 2025 to the present, the entire province has posted more than 15,000 news articles and stories about good news and beautiful stories on social media platforms. Platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and Zalo have become effective communication channels, attracting hundreds of thousands of views and interactions. In addition, members of the Provincial Young Theorists Club actively participate in criticizing and combating harmful, toxic, and distorted information about the Party and State's policies on the internet in a timely and effective manner.

At the grassroots level, the Youth Union organizes numerous propaganda and educational activities to raise awareness among its members and young people about appropriate behavior in cyberspace. The content is diverse, including branch meetings, forums, seminars, and digital media campaigns… helping members identify harmful and toxic information and improve their skills in using social media safely and effectively. “In addition to promoting civilized behavior in cyberspace through branch meetings, the Vinh Thuan Commune Youth Union utilizes social media to guide its members, especially by maintaining the Fanpage “Vinh Thuan Youth”. The content regularly posted includes official information, examples of good people and good deeds, volunteer activities, and content promoting safe social media use… helping members both update useful information and develop positive interaction habits in cyberspace,” said Chau Nhut Truong, Secretary of the Vinh Thuan Commune Youth Union.

In schools, the campaign for civilized behavior in cyberspace is concretized in many forms such as building models, clubs, and organizing thematic activities on digital skills for students... Ms. Ly Thi Minh Trang - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of An Giang University said: “The Youth Union focuses on equipping its members and students with the skills to identify authentic information, critical thinking skills, and appropriate behavior on social media; encouraging students to spread beautiful stories and meaningful actions, creating a positive effect in the online community. At the same time, we are implementing the development of the "5 good students" model associated with civilized behavior in cyberspace, creating a positive ripple effect.”

According to Khuong Thi Thao My, a member of the Kien Giang College of Education, using social media responsibly means first and foremost verifying information before sharing it, and refraining from posting or commenting on negative content that affects others. My regularly shares and spreads positive information and good deeds, and maintains a respectful attitude towards everyone when interacting on social media…

When every youth union member and young person proactively spreads positive messages and says no to harmful and toxic information, the online space will become increasingly safe and healthy, contributing to building a civilized society in the digital age.
