On the morning of July 15, representing 10 cadres mobilized, assigned, and appointed by the Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee to lead and manage many localities, agencies, and units, comrade Vu Viet Dung promised to overcome difficulties, immediately start new work, unite in the collective, and perform well the assigned tasks.
Nearly 70km from the center of Thai Nguyen city, taking nearly 2 hours to get there, Sang Moc is a remote commune, the terrain is mainly mountainous, difficult to travel, large area, population of more than 3,200 people, mainly Tay, H'Mong, Dao ethnic groups.
The people live scattered and sparsely in 8 hamlets, mainly relying on agricultural and forestry production, so life is still difficult, with the rate of poor and near-poor households reaching 40% of households and it is the most difficult commune in Thai Nguyen province.
After more than 10 years working at the Provincial Party Committee Office, being assigned as Deputy Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office, comrade Vu Viet Dung volunteered to work in Sang Moc commune, a difficult area, lacking economic and social infrastructure, people in the commune still have many difficulties, he himself also encountered many difficulties in traveling and accommodation, so he surprised and admired his comrades, colleagues, and people.
Comrade Duong Van Tien, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Organization Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, said: “Sang Moc is a commune with complex terrain, mainly ethnic minorities... so when rearranging the commune-level administrative units and organizing the two-level local government, the province has not temporarily arranged a Party Secretary for the commune.
After considering many aspects, ensuring conditions and with the spirit of volunteering, willing to take on difficulties and hardships, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee confidently assigned comrade Vu Viet Dung to be the Party Secretary of Sang Moc commune.
According to comrade Duong Van Tien, comrade Vu Viet Dung is a young cadre (born in 1980), well-trained, capable, experienced, diligent, hard-working, always completing his tasks well, including many difficult and complicated tasks assigned when he was Deputy Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office.
The Provincial Party Committee highly appreciates the sense of responsibility, sacrifice of personal interests, and willingness to accept the difficulties and hardships in the new challenging position of comrade Vu Viet Dung. This is an example of the spirit and responsibility of cadres and party members that needs to be recognized, praised, and spread, because everyone wants to receive a favorable and easy location, position, and job, so who will go to a difficult and complicated area.
The province will continue to monitor and create conditions for comrade Vu Viet Dung to successfully complete his tasks in Sang Moc commune.
Comrade Vu Viet Dung shared that this is an honor and at the same time a great challenge, requiring constant efforts to successfully complete the tasks expected by the Party Committee, government and people.
Although he has just received the decision to become the Party Secretary of Sang Moc commune, comrade Vu Viet Dung has a comprehensive grasp of the economic and social situation, natural conditions, life, and cultural identity of the people of Sang Moc commune, together with the Party Committee and government, discussing immediate and long-term issues to develop the economy, society, infrastructure, cultural institutions, and improve people's lives.
The commune still has many difficulties, there is no official house, comrade Vu Viet Dung has to temporarily put his personal bed in the office, eat lunch together, cook breakfast and dinner by himself, the commune does not have a market so living will be lacking, but what he worries about most is how to work with the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune to develop the economy and society, increasingly improve the people's lives with the goal that by 2030 the whole commune will have no poor households.
Head of the Organizing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Duong Van Tien added: "In the coming time, Thai Nguyen province will continue to review, evaluate, arrange and assign staff appropriately, in accordance with reality, especially key staff at the commune level, including communes in remote areas with many socio-economic difficulties.
In that context, we really need cadres with qualities, abilities, volunteer spirit and sense of responsibility like comrade Vu Viet Dung.
After the merger, many provinces have large areas, many remote communes, and economic and social difficulties. Many cadres have the mentality and desire to work in communes and wards near their homes, with developed economic and social conditions, and are afraid to go to difficult communes because it will be difficult and disadvantageous.
The fact that comrade Vu Viet Dung voluntarily went to work in a difficult area, far from home and the provincial center, was trusted, assigned tasks, and recognized by competent authorities, further shows that he is a shining example of a sense of responsibility, ready to accept tasks in a difficult area, with difficult travel and poor living conditions, which needs to be spread throughout the country.
