Some related developments
The risk of world war is getting closer every day . Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that the risk of world war is increasing due to the "crazy statements" of Western politicians about sending troops to Ukraine amid Russian exercises on the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons.
“ There are those who want to send soldiers to Ukraine and others who dream of using nuclear weapons, so the threat of world war is getting closer every day. We see what is happening: European politicians are making statements about the use of nuclear weapons and Russia is conducting exercises on the use of tactical nuclear weapons ,” said Mr. Szijjarto.
The Hungarian government has long been talking about the impossibility of resolving the Ukrainian conflict by military means, the foreign minister recalled. “That is why Hungary continues to call on its European partners to focus at least half of their efforts on achieving peace instead of statements and illusions that create threats,” the Hungarian foreign minister stressed.
The conflict in Ukraine must be resolved with the participation of Moscow, Kiev and Washington . Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the conflict in Ukraine will ultimately be resolved through negotiations taking place in two directions - between Russia and Ukraine and between Russia and the United States.
“ I think that two completely different negotiation processes will take place in parallel. There will be some form of contact between Ukraine and Russia, but somewhere after that there will be real negotiations between Russia and the United States ,” Mr. Orban said.
He also noted that this is not just a conflict between two countries, as “the entire West is behind Ukraine”. “In a sense, this is a proxy war”.
The West will limit sending troops to Ukraine . Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban believes that Western countries will limit sending troops to Ukraine and transfer to this country weapons that can be used to attack targets deep inside Russian territory.
“ It seems that the next stage of the war will mean that the West will transfer to Ukraine weapons technology capable of reaching Russian territory ,” Mr. Orban said.
Belgium will support Ukraine but will not send troops to the conflict zone . Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder said that Belgium intends to support Ukraine “as long as necessary”, but the issue of sending Belgian troops to the conflict zone is not on the agenda.
“ Support to Ukraine will continue as long as necessary, but sending military personnel is not on the agenda ,” Dedonder said.
Minister Dedonder said that Belgium has trained 2,500 servicemen for the Ukrainian armed forces, including pilots and technicians for the F-16. Regarding the supply of F-16 aircraft, she reiterated that Belgium plans to deliver the first aircraft to Kiev by the end of 2024, but only after the country receives the F-35s ordered from the United States.
Western weapons cannot reverse the situation in Ukraine . Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that no weapons supplied by the West could change the course of Russia's special operations in Ukraine.
According to Mr. Peskov, the West is currently "provoking tension and constantly raising the level of escalation" in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
“ All experts are clear that no weapons supplied by the West are capable of turning the tide on the front line. The only thing they can do is make the situation for the Ukrainian people even more difficult. Russia will continue its special military operation and will do so until all its goals are achieved ,” Peskov stressed.
