Former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Nguyen Van Giau was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun by the Japanese Government.

The Embassy of Japan in Vietnam recently held a ceremony to present the Order of the Rising Sun and the Japanese Government's Decision to award the Order of the Rising Sun, with gold and silver stars, to former member of the Party Central Committee and former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Nguyen Van Giau.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki presented the Japanese Government 's Order of the Rising Sun to former member of the Party Central Committee and former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Nguyen Van Giau.

Attending the ceremony were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee Vu Hai Ha and leaders of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee; Economic and Financial Committee; State Bank of Vietnam; National Assembly Delegation of An Giang province and relevant agencies and units.

Speaking at the ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki expressed his respect and deep gratitude for the positive contributions of Comrade Nguyen Van Giau during his working period, especially in his position as Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam , Chairman of the Economic Committee of the 13th National Assembly, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 14th National Assembly in strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Japan in the fields under his responsibility, promoting good cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Japanese Parliament.

Former Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Nguyen Van Giau expressed his deep gratitude to the Japanese Government for considering and awarding the noble Medal; thanked the Party and State of Vietnam for allowing him to receive the Medal; and the relevant agencies of the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government for coordinating to support the completion of the dossier according to the regulations of the two countries.
