Former principal of the country's top pedagogical school becomes principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh University

TPO - Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong - Former Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has just been appointed as Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

On December 1, the Board of Nguyen Tat Thanh University announced the above information. According to the Decision, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong holds the position of Rector of Nguyen Tat Thanh University for a period of 1 year from November 24, 2025 to November 23, 2026, with duties and powers under the direction of the Board of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong, new Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh University

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong was born in 1957, from Bac Ninh, is an educational administrator with nearly 4 decades of experience in teaching, research and university administration. He graduated with a PhD in geography from Hanoi National University of Education I in 1994 and was recognized as an associate professor in 2003. At the same time, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong has held many important leadership positions at higher education institutions.

From 1978 to June 2017, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong worked as a lecturer and then held the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Geography, Vice Principal, and Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. From January 2020 to December 2021, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong worked as Vice Principal of Van Hien University. He was also the Editor-in-Chief of the geography section of the history-geography textbooks (grades Six to Nine) and Editor-in-Chief of the geography textbooks (grades Ten to Twelve) of the Vietnam Education Publishing House, general education program 2018.

From 2023 to November 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong worked at the Journal of Science and Technology of Nguyen Tat Thanh University as Editor-in-Chief. After that, he was appointed as Rector of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

Previously, Nguyen Tat Thanh University also appointed Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam as Vice Principal of the University.

Thus, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has completed the personnel of the School's Board of Directors including 7 members: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong - Principal, and Vice Principals: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Hong, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Dr. Hoang Huu Dung and Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam.
