TPO - On the EPGA Academy practice field in the late afternoon, the image of an innocent boy, leaving class and quickly slinging his golf bag over his shoulder, makes many people stop and watch. That is Nguyen Vu Phuc Anh (9 years old), a prominent face of the Vietnamese youth golf scene.

Born in 2016 in Hanoi, Phuc Anh started playing golf at the age of 6. Under the dedicated guidance of his father - golfer Nguyen Tuan Anh - President of Hanoi Junior Club and winner of the 2018 National Senior Championship, the boy soon developed a deep love for this sport that requires patience, discipline and absolute precision. From the first training sessions on the large grass field, Phuc Anh showed his love, ability to concentrate, flexible tactical thinking and impressive competitive spirit compared to his age.

Not only is he his son’s “favorite caddy”, Mr. Tuan Anh is also his son’s companion, teacher and “psychologist and nutritionist”. The father and son always “stand side by side” in most of the major and minor junior golf tournaments in the country. On the course, Mr. Tuan Anh observes each shot, quietly giving tactical suggestions, while Phuc Anh listens attentively, calmly and confidently executes.

Since 2023, Phuc Anh has participated in dozens of large and small tournaments nationwide, continuously making his mark with stable performance and strong competitive spirit. Although he is just a "small seed" among taller seniors, he still makes viewers admire him with his solid shots, confident demeanor and the smile that always appears on his face.

Phuc Anh is currently ranked No. 1 in the U9 age group in the VGA Junior Tour system, and has continuously won the U9 championship in a series of prestigious tournaments such as the Vietnam Junior Open 2025 or Junior Race to Taylormade. Phuc Anh's achievements include many U9 and U10 championship titles and high rankings in major tournaments, affirming his dominance in the age group that is difficult for any opponent to surpass.

Continuing the family tradition

Phuc Anh was born into a family where golf is not only a sport, but also a precious tradition. Besides his father, his older brother, Nguyen Vu Quoc Anh, was once the pride of young Vietnamese golfers with a series of major titles such as BRG - VGM Junior Golf Championship 2019, Bamboo Airways Spring 2020, FLC Golf Tournament 2025 - Spring Symphony. And especially, Quoc Anh was the champion of Tien Phong Golf Championship 2019.

Now, while Quoc Anh is continuing his studies and training abroad, Phuc Anh has become the one to continue the family tradition. In the history of the Vietnam Young Talent Golf Tournament, this is the first time a pair of brothers have competed in succession: the older brother won the tournament, then the younger brother continued to conquer the peak.

Although they share the same passion for golf, on the course, the two brothers Quoc Anh and Phuc Anh are like two opposite colors. Quoc Anh always exudes a calm, composed and humble demeanor. He is quiet, completely focused on each shot and maintains a calm attitude no matter what the outcome.

On the contrary, Phuc Anh, the 9-year-old brother, has a fire of enthusiasm and a strong personality, ready to challenge himself with every shot. This difference not only creates a unique personality for each person, but also makes the golf family of the two brothers come alive, inspiring golf lovers.

Fun and discipline in every swing

Phuc Anh’s story is not only told through his impressive record of achievements, but also through the perseverance and discipline of a 9-year-old boy. Every day, after school at the International School, at exactly 4 pm, Phuc Anh is at the EPGA golf course to practice.

On weekends, her schedule is packed with skill lessons with the coach. But Phuc Anh has never complained. Because in her bright eyes and innocent smile, golf is a joy, a natural part of life.

In addition to golf, Phuc Anh also plays basketball and swimming, which help him develop his physical strength and flexibility, supporting each powerful swing on the field. He understands that to go far in the future, talent alone is not enough, but also requires serious training and a spirit of continuous learning.

Attending the Tien Phong Golf Championship for the first time, Phuc Anh could not hide his excitement and nervousness. He shared with a bright smile: "I am very happy to play in the Tien Phong tournament, where Quoc Anh was once the champion. I want to compete well, play my best and learn more from my seniors."

The 9th Tien Phong Golf Championship - Swing for young talents - 2025 took place on November 15 at Legend Valley Country Club ( Ninh Binh ), gathering 144 domestic and international golfers to compete.

Not only is it a prestigious sports playground, the tournament also has a special meaning when continuing to accompany the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund, a place to honor, encourage and support outstanding young faces in many fields, contributing to spreading the spirit of dedication and aspiration to rise of the young generation.
