First lunar eclipse in 2023 in Vietnam

On the night of May 5 and early morning of May 6, 2023, astronomy lovers in Vietnam will have the opportunity to observe a "penumbral lunar eclipse," a remarkable optical phenomenon in 2023.

According to Hanoi time, the "penumbral lunar eclipse" will begin at 10:14 p.m. on May 5, 2023, reach its peak with a penumbral rate of 96.4% at 0:23 a.m. on May 6, 2023, and end at 2:31 a.m. the same day.

This “penumbral lunar eclipse” phenomenon can be observed anywhere in Vietnam (as well as most of Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania).
