Vietnamese teachers honored at the TES Awards 2025

Teacher Mai Bich Thuy was honored with the 2025 Outstanding Leadership Award by the TES (Times Educational Supplement) organization.

Within the framework of the TES Awards for International Schools 2025, organized by TES – a leading and prestigious education organization from the United Kingdom – in London, teacher Bich Thuy was awarded the Leadership Award. This recognition is not only for her individual achievements but also makes a strong impression on Vietnamese education in the direction of international integration.

According to the TES judging panel, Ms. Mai Bich Thuy demonstrated transformative leadership with a long-term vision, clearly evidenced by achievements in academic progress, enrollment growth, staff morale, and student welfare; she also initiated innovative programs, mentored future leaders, and promoted international recognition, making a significant difference.

The achievements of teacher Mai Bich Thuy and RGSV are built on a steadfast pursuit of high international educational standards, with a curriculum taught entirely in English, creating an ideal academic language environment. In a school where over 50% of students are of foreign nationality, the school focuses on building an international learning environment while simultaneously integrating Vietnamese cultural values, helping international students better understand the image of a modern, dynamic, and developing Vietnam. For Vietnamese students, access to an internationally standardized curriculum within the country expands learning opportunities, reduces the financial burden of early overseas study, and allows them to develop in a safe and stable environment.

These achievements reflect the efforts of Vietnamese education in gradually bringing international standards into practice in Vietnam, thereby demonstrating the increasingly clear trend of integration of our education system in recent times.

From a policy perspective, in the context of the Party and State strongly promoting major strategies on strengthening international integration in education and training, aiming to build a high-quality workforce of Vietnamese citizens with global thinking and the ability to adapt to socio -economic changes, the role of international educational institutions in Vietnam is increasingly affirmed.

The educational philosophy pursued by TES, as well as other advanced educational models worldwide, shares one common point: schools are not merely places for imparting knowledge, but also spaces for nurturing dreams, shaping the future, cultivating character, ethics, social responsibility, and civic competence in students. It is this vision that has enabled Ms. Mai Bich Thuy to persistently pursue a model of training modern global citizens who still retain the strong, steadfast, and culturally rich identity of the Vietnamese nation.

According to the organizers, the TES award recognizes excellence in a wide range of fields that impact education, not just academic achievement. It is not a symbolic award but a highly competitive one within the international education system.

In 2025, the awards attracted 578 applications from educational institutions in various regions around the world. Specifically, the specialized categories such as Curriculum Initiative of the Year and Community Engagement Initiative of the Year each received more than 40 entries. This demonstrates the increasingly high demands for quality and social impact in education in the context of globalization.

Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, an expert on international integration in the field of education and training, believes that the fact that a Vietnamese educator has been honored with the TES Outstanding Leadership Award 2025 has multifaceted significance for the international integration process of Vietnamese education.

This affirms the position and capabilities of Vietnamese education on the international stage, especially considering that the TES Awards is a highly competitive award that brings together hundreds of advanced educational models from around the world. Therefore, the honor bestowed upon a Vietnamese education leader demonstrates that the vision, management capabilities, and quality of education created by Vietnamese people can absolutely reach international standards.

Furthermore, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam believes that this achievement should be viewed as an important step, albeit small, but fundamental, in the increasingly deep international integration of the education sector, in line with the directives of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development; and Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

The educational model led by teacher Mai Bich Thuy, with its prestigious international programs and certifications, has contributed to establishing practical standards of international educational quality right here in Vietnam. "This success has a ripple effect, inspiring the entire sector and encouraging educational institutions to continue learning and innovating teaching and management methods in a more comprehensive way, aiming to create global citizens with a strong Vietnamese identity," Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam emphasized.
