Additionally, the play "Brilliant Sunset" also participated in the festival and was honored with a Bronze Medal for the performance, while artist Hong Phuc excellently won an individual Silver Medal.
According to Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu, in addition to focusing on improving artistic quality, the Theatre also promotes activities serving political purposes, touring performances, and cooperation and exchange with localities, agencies, and units. This not only contributes to spreading the value of theatrical art but also affirms the role of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre as a leading artistic unit in the country.

The Director of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre, Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu, presented a summary of the theatre's work in 2025 and outlined the tasks for 2026.
In addition, the theater has always focused on foreign relations, with a highlight in 2025 being its collaboration with Metaforce Vietnam to stage the musical "Coffee and Bread". The musical was created and directed by a team of Korean artists. This project was undertaken to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025), aiming to spread the cultural messages, people, and contemporary life of both countries through the language of theater…
To further affirm its role and position in the new phase, the Theatre has identified the following key directions and tasks for the period 2026-2030: Continuing to strive to build the Theatre into a leading center for creative theatre production, training, and performance; strongly promoting socialization in staging and performance; continuing to develop a team of talented young artists and directors; gradually modernizing equipment and digitizing 100% of artistic records; and continuing to expand international cooperation, sending artists to participate in regional and international festivals.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Drama Theatre in 2025. On behalf of the President of Vietnam , Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong presented the Third-Class Labor Medal to Meritorious Artist Trinh Mai Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre.
According to Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong, in 2025, the Theatre will have decisive leadership, correct orientation, and closely adhere to political tasks associated with artistic creation. In particular, during a year marked by many important national events, the Theatre has made outstanding contributions through programs and performances serving political objectives, as well as large-scale festivals and artistic activities.
Through the summary report and presented materials, it can be seen that the Theatre has organized many vibrant artistic activities, the artists' spiritual lives are stable, and the working atmosphere is positive. Works participating in festivals and plays performed at events have all received positive feedback from the public and audiences. "2025 will be a successful year for the Drama Theatre, not only in the field of art but also in areas such as politics and finance..." - the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed.
Regarding future directions, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong emphasized that culture is a field receiving increasing attention from the Party and the State, with many preferential mechanisms and policies. However, this also requires art units to proactively innovate, improve the quality of their activities, and build upon the achievements already made.

Delegates took a commemorative photo to congratulate the Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre, Meritorious Artist Trinh Mai Nguyen.
Therefore, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong suggested that in 2026, the Theater should carefully study the content and thoroughly, seriously, synchronously, and effectively implement the directives, resolutions, and policies of the Party and State in its operations. In addition, the Theater needs to continue strengthening internal unity, from the Board of Directors to the departments, divisions, and art troupes. As one of the units with a relatively stable organization, the Theater needs to further promote collective strength, creating a foundation for long-term development.
At the same time, the training and development of young artists also needs special attention. Training should not only focus on technique, skills, and professional expertise, but also emphasize the cultivation of political ideology, professional ethics, and artistic conduct. Given that many young artists have a significant influence on social media, guidance is needed to ensure that this influence brings positive value to the cultural sector and to the theater.

Conference scene
Professionally, the theater needs to develop a systematic and long-term annual repertoire strategy. Classic plays should be established as regular repertoire pieces, with plans for re-staging them in a way that innovates the actors, stage space, and performance structure while still preserving the core values. At the same time, the theater needs to select and invest strategically in a number of plays with high ideological value, investing comprehensively in both content and form, aiming to create works with lasting vitality, capable of performing for many consecutive shows and leaving a clear impression on the public.
