The Nhon Trach 4 power plant is expected to begin commercial operation before December 20th.

(Dong Nai) - On December 7th, information from the Power Project Management Board of Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation (PV Power) indicated that the Nhon Trach 4 power plant, part of the Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 power plant project, is expected to begin commercial operation before December 20th.

Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 are the first projects in Vietnam designed to utilize liquefied natural gas (LNG) under the National Power Development Plan VIII, and are classified as nationally important projects. The projects have a total capacity of over 1,600 MW and a total investment of 1.4 billion USD.

According to PV Power, all items related to the Nhon Trach 4 power plant have been completed according to design. The plant has completed a 72-hour reliability test with operating parameters meeting requirements and is eligible for commercial operation.

Previously, the Nhon Trach 3 power plant was scheduled to begin commercial operation on November 20, 2025.

Completing the project on schedule, bringing the facility into operation early, will contribute to the province's budget revenue, promote the development of the industrial and service sectors around Phuoc An Seaport and industrial zones, ensure energy security for the province and the Southeast region, and contribute to energy transition and green economic development.
