An Khe Sugar Factory officially enters the 2025-2026 crushing season

(GLO)- On the morning of December 2, in An Khe ward (Gia Lai province), An Khe Sugar Factory officially operated the pressing line, opened to purchase sugarcane for farmers in 15 communes and wards in the western region of the province, crop year 2025-2026.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuoc - Deputy Director of An Khe Sugar Factory - said: In the immediate future, the Factory will purchase 1 million VND/ton of pure sugarcane with 10% sugar content in the field, support 20,000 VND/ton of pure sugarcane after completing the contract and support the average transportation cost of 160,000 VND from the field to the factory (depending on the distance).

Due to the impact of storm No. 13, this crop, the average yield per hectare of sugarcane is 75 tons, a decrease of nearly 10 tons compared to the previous crop; a decrease of 0.5 to 1 sugar content per ton due to sugarcane falling over.

With the current purchase price, after deducting costs, each hectare of sugarcane makes a profit of about 25-30 million VND.

During peak season, An Khe Sugar Factory will press 18,000 tons of sugarcane per day; it is expected to purchase all sugarcane from farmers by the end of May 2026.
