Two crosses are placed on a shelf at the back of Notre Dame Cathedral. The Catholic symbol is made of steel, crafted by the Altri Tempi Company (Belgium) over two years and transported to Ho Chi Minh City by sea in five weeks. The outer gold plating was done by a manufacturer of ultra-thin gold leaf with a history dating back to 1600.
The two Crosses are protected by anti-glare acrylic plexiglas glass, convenient for contemplation and will be displayed in the church for about half a year.
By April 2026, when the zinc tower's restoration work is complete, they will be mounted on top of the 57-meter-high tower.
