Ukraine is currently using MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters to counter the Russian air force, which is larger in force and superior in technology.
According to experts, these fighters are weak compared to Russian fighters such as the MiG-31 and Su-25, which are equipped with advanced radar systems that allow observation and identification of targets from a distance.
The F-16 fighter, equipped with better radar, weapons, speed and range, will help the country strengthen its air power in a conflict with Russia.
Ukrainian officials have been asking the West for months to provide advanced fighter jets, especially the F-16. However, many Western officials and experts say Ukraine's infrastructure is not ready to operate the F-16.
