Duong Thanh Cong, a 12A5 student at Marie Curie High School, has a particularly difficult situation. His father died of tuberculosis, and he and his brother have to rely on their elderly and weak uncle. Due to difficult circumstances, Cong's older brother had to quit school after finishing 5th grade to go to work. Cong also tries his best to both study and work to support himself.

In the past, Cong had been suffering from tuberculosis but had no money for treatment so he endured it silently so as not to become a burden to his family. Recently, his condition worsened and Cong had to be hospitalized in a state of physical weakness, weighing only 35 kg.

Faced with that situation, class 12A5 - the class Cong is studying - has raised more than 22 million VND. Marie Curie High School also launched the movement "Light up your dreams" to teachers, staff, parents and students of the whole school. In particular, Chairman of the School Board Hoang Xuan Khoa donated one month's pension of 9 million VND.

His situation has also touched the hearts of the community. Through social networks, many kind-hearted people have joined hands to help him. Up to this point, the total amount of support is enough for his medical treatment and education in the coming years. With all his emotions and gratitude, Cong expressed his deep gratitude and wished to stop receiving support from this point.

Ms. Tran Thi Minh Huong, Principal of Marie Curie High School, said: Since she was admitted, knowing her situation, the school has granted her a scholarship and completely waived her tuition fees from the first year of school until graduation. In recent days, the Board of Directors and teachers have regularly visited the hospital to visit and encourage her, helping her feel secure in her treatment and continue to nurture her dream of studying. The school also instructed the student to use the donated money for the right purposes of medical treatment and future studies.
