Home ground is the first factor that gives U23 Indonesia an advantage in the race in Jakarta. Indonesian players are more familiar with the weather and field conditions than other opponents.
Indonesia's significant strength also lies in its abundant, combative youth force. Indonesia has always played with a fiery spirit, sometimes becoming too "tough". Youth football is inherently unstable, with frequent mistakes, but this is what makes U23 Indonesia unpredictable.
In recent years, Indonesia has also focused more on youth training. Especially under coach Shin Tae-yong, young Indonesian players have been encouraged and given opportunities to play football. Therefore, they have built a fairly high-quality force. While Malaysia is showing signs of decline, Indonesian football does not hide its ambition to rise.

U23 Thailand is the second particularly tough opponent for U23 Vietnam. To prepare for the 33rd SEA Games, Thailand is focusing on investing in the youth team. Similar to U23 Vietnam, the Southeast Asian U23 Championship has become a place for Thailand to train its troops, aiming to win the SEA Games gold medal at home.
The U23 Thailand squad includes many young players but also players who participated in the 22nd SEA Games (Cambodia). Most of them possess good individual skills and strong physical strength.
The playing style of U23 Thailand is similar to the first team, rich in variation and good ball control. This is a difficulty for U23 Vietnam. Defending the championship is therefore not an easy goal for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team. It is no coincidence that the Korean coach also believes that these are the two most formidable opponents.
That does not mean that U23 Vietnam is at a disadvantage against its opponents. The significant strength of U23 Vietnam is the midfield with many faces who have been “tested” in the V-League such as Khuat Van Khang, Thai Son, Van Truong… enough courage and experience for the youth playground.
As the defending champion, U23 Vietnam has enough confidence to enter the race with its opponents.
