Supporting underprivileged students

Upholding the tradition of "mutual support and compassion," Do Vinh 2 Primary School (Do Vinh Ward) effectively maintains the "Saving Piggy Banks to Help Poor Students" model. According to Ms. Dao Thi Phuong Nga, Principal of Do Vinh 2 Primary School, this model has been initiated and maintained by the school for many years, attracting generations of students to participate, saving an average of over 20 million VND per school year. Saving money in piggy banks is entirely voluntary, depending on the students' ability. During the Lunar New Year and at the end of the school year, the school organizes a ceremony where students from all classes break open their piggy banks and collect money to help students in difficult circumstances. This model not only helps students develop a sense of saving early on but also contributes to educating them about solidarity and sharing with those less fortunate. Along with the "Saving Piggy Banks to Help Poor Students" program, the school also effectively maintains the "Supporting Students at the Beginning of the School Year" program. Specifically for the 2025-2026 school year, the program donated bicycles, uniforms, personal insurance, and essential supplies to disadvantaged students, totaling over 30 million VND. Notably, the school also mobilized and received 386 backpacks, 4,500 notebooks, 100 sets of clothing, 235 sets of school supplies, and over 120 million VND from organizations, businesses, philanthropists, and school staff to help disadvantaged students and those affected by floods to quickly resume their studies.

In Phuoc Huu commune, the Youth Union has sponsored Vo Thi Huyen Trang, a 9th-grade student at Huynh Phuoc Secondary School, who has shown determination to overcome difficulties and excel in her studies, from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year until she completes her 12th-grade program. Mr. Vo Duc Linh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phuoc Huu commune and Secretary of the Phuoc Huu Youth Union, stated: “The sponsorship activity is implemented in two ways: coordinating with the family to monitor, visit, and encourage the student during her studies; and simultaneously awarding a scholarship worth 5 million VND per school year from social contributions. In 2025, the Youth Union coordinated the donation of 743 gifts (300,000 VND each) to students at Nhu Binh Primary School and Phuoc Thai Kindergarten; and coordinated the charitable program “Nurturing Knowledge,” awarding 20 scholarships (1 million VND each) to underprivileged students who have overcome difficulties, and one special scholarship worth 3 million VND to a student with a serious illness.” "We are supporting students from poor families who have a strong will to excel in their studies, and we are providing 90 gifts (350,000 VND each) to students of Hoai Trung Primary School (Campus 2)... contributing to supporting and creating conditions for them to study with peace of mind."

Joining hands to help those in need.

With the message "One meal - a million acts of kindness," the Ninh Chu Ward Youth Union has effectively maintained the "Free Meal Distribution" program at the Ninh Hai Regional Health Center. Mr. Doan Do Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Chu Ward and Secretary of the Ninh Chu Ward Youth Union, said: "The program is implemented regularly every Monday morning, with 80 vegetarian meals sponsored by Phat Quang Pagoda and benefactors. The Ward Youth Union is responsible for cooking and distributing the meals to patients and their relatives. In addition to the meals, we also provide fruit, cakes, milk, etc., to help patients and their families alleviate some of their difficulties and encourage them to focus on treatment for a speedy recovery."

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Chu Ward, in 2025, closely following the leadership of the Party Committee and the political tasks of the locality, the Ward Fatherland Front, together with political and social organizations, proactively built and implemented a coordinated program to carry out many practical activities. A highlight is the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025". Through this, support has been provided for the construction and repair of 30 houses with a total amount of over 2.68 billion VND. It is noteworthy that, in addition to state funding, many businesses actively responded to the program by contributing funds to support house construction for the people. In the last six months of 2025, the Ward Fatherland Front mobilized and coordinated with religious institutions and philanthropists to build 3 new houses for poor households with a total amount of 210 million VND; and simultaneously donated gifts to people in difficult circumstances with a total value of over 134 million VND.

In Do Vinh ward, the People's Committee has closely and effectively coordinated with military units stationed in the area, mobilizing manpower, equipment, and labor to support the construction of 9 new houses and the repair of 19 houses for people affected by floods during the "Quang Trung Campaign," ensuring that the assistance reached the intended beneficiaries, the quality of the construction, and exceeded the assigned schedule. Mr. Le Kim Hiep, Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Vinh ward, said: "During the campaign, the People's Committee of the ward strictly followed the criteria for supporting flood relief efforts, providing 60 million VND per house for new construction and 30 million VND per house for repairs from the Thien Tam Fund (Vingroup Group); and also received over 50 tons of cement and plastic pipes to support the construction of 9 new houses. In addition, the locality mobilized and received donations of paint and one-piece toilets from benefactors for the construction of the 28 houses mentioned above."

Meaningful social and charitable models and activities that have been implemented and replicated have contributed to the effective implementation of social welfare work in the province, spreading positive values in the community.
