Quickly resolve power outages caused by heavy rain.

The widespread thunderstorms and lightning strikes that occurred from the night of May 16th to May 18th in the province caused some localized incidents on the power distribution grid. Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, Quang Ninh Power Company promptly implemented disaster prevention and search and rescue plans, mobilizing maximum personnel, materials, and equipment to handle the incidents and restore safe power supply to customers.

Hai Ha Power Company erected poles, installed crossarms, insulators, and other accessories, rewound the wiring, completed the connection, and restored electricity to customers.

According to reports, prolonged heavy rain accompanied by lightning has affected several areas in Dong Trieu, Quang Yen, Hoanh Bo, Yet Kieu, Cao Xanh, Cam Pha, Hai Ha, Binh Lieu, etc., causing power lines to break, lightning arresters to explode, porcelain insulators to shatter, and some low-voltage power poles to collapse. Preliminary statistics indicate that approximately 4,400 customers have been affected.

Immediately after receiving the information, Quang Ninh Power Company established working groups to go directly to the scene to direct the handling of the incident, while also reinforcing forces to support the severely affected areas. This ensured that the power grid and 110kV substations remained operational and stable throughout the storm.

Regarding incidents on the medium and low voltage power grids, the units completed the troubleshooting and restored power supply to all affected customers on May 18th.

Given the forecast of continued heavy rainfall, Quang Ninh Power Company is continuing to review the entire power grid system, reinforce vulnerable areas, clear drainage around pole foundations, and proactively implement response plans to ensure safe, stable, and continuous electricity supply for the people.
