On February 9th, along the streets of Truong Chinh, Le Thanh Tong, Tran Hung Dao, etc., the Tet atmosphere was bustling at the Buon Ma Thuot spring flower market.
At 10-3 Square, the vibrant yellow of chrysanthemums blends with the dazzling orange of kumquat trees, illuminating the space in the early morning.
At the intersection of Truong Chinh and Tran Quang Khai streets, the colors of spring appear in a gentler way. Moc Chau peach blossoms, appearing in Buon Ma Thuot for the first time, quietly unfurl under the early morning sun. The pale pink petals, delicate and light, no longer shy but gradually revealing their beauty, create a soft spring atmosphere amidst the city streets.

Although the single-branch plum blossom is not appearing in Dak Lak for the first time, it still captivates the people of this "mountain town".
Ms. Trinh Thi Trinh's (a resident of Buon Ma Thuot ward) Moc Chau peach blossom stall attracts many visitors. The peach trees are over 1 meter tall, with straight trunks, compact canopies, and vigorous growth. As the sunlight slants across the petals, the entire street seems to slow down, and many people take advantage of the opportunity to take souvenir photos. According to Ms. Trinh, each potted peach blossom costs between 15 and 18 million VND, but it still attracts customers because of its unique and rare beauty in Dak Lak.
Not far away, at the intersection of Le Thanh Tong and Tran Hung Dao streets, the pristine white blossoms of the single-branch plum tree stand out amidst the vibrant scenery. The display booth of Nguyen Van Dat (25 years old, residing in Buon Ma Thuot city) is always crowded with visitors, leisurely admiring each tree's gracefully curving shape and its trunk covered in refreshing green moss.

Mr. Dat (25 years old), the owner of a stall selling apricot blossom trees at the corner of Le Thanh Tong and Tran Hung Dao streets, said this is the second year he has imported flowers from Sa Pa to Dak Lak for sale. This year he has about 100 pots priced from 5 to 8 million VND.
Under the early morning sun, the single-branch plum blossom appears elegant and serene, like a gentle moment of tranquility amidst the bustling flower market. Mr. Dat said this is the second year his family has brought single-branch plum blossoms to the Tet market. This year, he imported about 100 pots of various sizes, priced from 5 to 8 million VND each. "Seeing how well people appreciate them, this year I chose a moderate size so that more people can enjoy them," he said.
Stopping to choose flowers, Mr. Le Van Thanh (47 years old, residing in Buon Ma Thuot ward) said that this year his family wanted to create something new by choosing single-branch apricot blossoms instead of yellow apricot blossoms or chrysanthemums like in previous years. "After Tet, we can still take care of them as ornamental plants in the garden, creating lasting memories and a long-term connection," he shared.
Besides the spring colors from the North, this year's Buon Ma Thuot flower market also welcomes bonsai trees from the Southwestern region. The evergreen pine from Dong Thap appears as a complete gathering of bonsai trees from all three regions in the final days of the year.
From the 15th day of the 12th lunar month, Mr. Nguyen Van Hong (38 years old, from Cai Lay, Tien Giang , now part of Dong Thap province) transported about a dozen large and small pine trees hundreds of kilometers to Buon Ma Thuot. These old pine trees with compact canopies and elaborate shapes quickly attracted the attention of tree enthusiasts.
Among them are trees about 1 meter tall, priced at nearly 300 million VND; larger trees with ancient trunks and wide canopies are priced at approximately 400 million VND, mainly targeting customers who appreciate long-term trees. In addition, Mr. Hong also brought up a few giant yellow apricot blossom trees, over 2 meters tall, priced at nearly 1 billion VND each, adding the color of spring from the South to the heart of the mountain town.

This year's Buon Ma Thuot flower market is a vibrant gathering of ornamental plants from all three regions of Vietnam during the final days of the year.
Dak Lak will not hold a fireworks display, instead allocating resources to flood victims.
According to the plan for organizing activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse (Bính Ngọ) by the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, this year's programs will be implemented in a joyful, healthy, safe, and economical manner, reflecting the cultural identity of the ethnic groups.
A highlight this year is that Dak Lak will not be holding a fireworks display on New Year's Eve. Accordingly, the resources mobilized through social contributions will be saved and used to support people in the areas affected by the recent floods.

The evergreen pine tree exudes an air of elegance at the flower market.

Orchids imported from Da Lat also contribute to the vibrant colors of the Dak Lak flower market.
