Many fields are difficult to put into production because of damaged irrigation works.

Recent floods have severely damaged many irrigation works in Ba Vinh commune (Quang Ngai), threatening more than 150 hectares of winter-spring rice. Mang Woang dam - the water source for more than 60 hectares of rice - was completely washed away, the irrigation ditches were broken, and silt covered the entire field.

People are worried about not being able to sow rice due to lack of irrigation water. The commune authorities said the remaining structures, Long Di and Va Suong dams, are also severely damaged, beyond their ability to repair. The locality is proposing the province provide emergency support for timely recovery, to avoid fields being abandoned in the next crop.
