By December 7, more than 20 universities nationwide announced their expected enrollment plans for 2026 with many notable new points. Many schools said they planned to eliminate or reduce the consideration of academic records or adjust the admission methods.
Specifically, the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts ( Hanoi National University) will completely eliminate the consideration of academic records in 2026, while in 2025 it will still apply to 5/8 majors combining foreign language certificates and aptitude tests.
Hanoi National University of Education 2 only considers transcripts in 10 majors and does not use competency assessment test scores (Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi National University of Education).
The University of Education ( Thai Nguyen University) continues to not consider academic records, eliminate V-SAT and competency assessment tests, and replace them with a method of combining high school graduation exam scores with international certificates.
Besides, there are still 7 schools that announced independent review of transcripts, namely: Hanoi Pedagogical University 2; Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade; Tan Trao University (Tuyen Quang); Yersin University of Dalat (Lam Dong); Tay Do University, Nam Can Tho University; Nha Trang University (Khanh Hoa).
Most schools also use aptitude and thinking assessment tests such as TSA (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), HSA (Hanoi National University), V-ACT (Ho Chi Minh City National University), SPT (Hanoi Pedagogical University), H-SCA (Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University) or V-SAT (in cooperation with the National Testing Center).
