The announcement ceremony of the establishment of the Semiconductor Alliance, developed on the basis of the Alliance of 5 higher education institutions, has just taken place at Hanoi National University. The alliance aims to support the promotion of training and research activities and provide high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry, initiated by Hanoi National University.

Semiconductor Alliance officially launched
Phase 1 of the Alliance brings together more than 20 domestic and international units, including major Vietnamese universities such as Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University,FPT University, Cryptography Engineering Academy, etc.; prestigious international universities such as Sungkyunkwan University (Korea), Kumamoto University (Japan), HSE University (Russia); and large enterprises in the semiconductor chain such as Viettel, FPT, Nisso, MRIV International, etc.
The alliance will connect laboratory systems, share modern facilities and equipment, and facilitate the implementation of large, interdisciplinary research projects on domestic chip design and manufacturing. Promote the training of source lecturers, technology transfer, and capacity building for universities, research institutes, and businesses.
In parallel with training, the Alliance will promote research, design and manufacture of "make in Vietnam" chips, increasing the localization rate and added value; participating in policy consulting for the Government and management agencies to build a sustainable development strategy for the national semiconductor industry.

Vice President of Hanoi National University Pham Bao Son spoke at the event.
Deputy Director of Hanoi National University Pham Bao Son affirmed that developing the semiconductor industry is not only a strategic goal but also a key opportunity for Vietnam to master core technologies, enhance national competitiveness and affirm its position in the global value chain.
For the Semiconductor Alliance to develop strongly, the Vice President of Hanoi National University said that it is necessary to build a borderless cooperation mechanism where universities, businesses and government agencies can share resources, infrastructure, research and training. This cooperation will not only take place within the country, but also expand internationally, to maximize the strength of the alliance.

Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang believes that through the Semiconductor Alliance, Vietnam has the basis to gradually master important stages in the semiconductor value chain.
Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang, Director of FPT Semiconductor, FPT Corporation, said that the Vietnamese semiconductor industry currently has two major gaps that hinder its development. The first gap lies in the fragmented cooperation between universities and businesses. The second gap is the lack of connection between domestic businesses, as each unit is following its own "path", failing to form a cooperative ecosystem like the model of the leading countries. He emphasized that the establishment of the Alliance is a necessary condition to create real connections, helping all parties to seize opportunities together.
Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang believes that with the Government's support, the spirit of cooperation between businesses and training institutions through the Semiconductor Alliance, Vietnam has the basis to gradually master important stages in the semiconductor value chain and become a strategic destination in the global semiconductor industry in the near future.
FPT affirms its long-term commitment to accompany universities and research institutes in human resource training and semiconductor technology development.
