In Decision No. 1375/QD-BTCGBC signed by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy, the Rules of the 2nd National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism" compared to the 1st time held in 2023 have many new points.

The 2nd National Press Award “For the Development of Culture, Sports and Tourism” was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The award aims to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of collectives and individuals of the press team to the development of culture, sports and tourism.

The Organizing Committee selects and awards the author or group of authors with outstanding press works on culture, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast by central and local press agencies within the prescribed time; awards the typical press agency with many winning works.

According to the Rules, the subjects submitting articles to the Award are authors who are Vietnamese citizens in the country and abroad with press works on the fields of culture, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast on licensed press agencies (printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio newspapers, television newspapers, photo newspapers) within the prescribed time; authors who are foreigners with press works (written in Vietnamese) in accordance with the provisions of the Award Rules.

Regarding the content of the entries, the 2nd Award has many new points. Accordingly, the Award is selected and awarded to authors or groups of authors, excellent journalistic works, reflecting on real people, real events (not fictional), with the ability to discover, accurately and promptly reflect on groups, individuals, positive actions, typical advances, criticizing bad habits and vices in society...

In terms of genre, the press works considered for the Award are press works in the form of reflections, reports, investigations, documentaries, memoirs, talk shows (except live radio and television programs)... promoting culture, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast for the first time in the following types of press: Print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, photo newspapers from July 1, 2023 to June 15, 2024.

Applications for the Award must be submitted directly or sent by post to the Award's Standing Office (Culture Newspaper, No. 33, Lane 294/2 Kim Ma, Kim Ma Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi City. Phone: 024.38220036, extension 110; 111) by June 20, 2024 (according to the postmark).

The preliminary round will be held from July 10-24, 2024. The final round will be from August 1, 2024. The announcement and award ceremony is expected to take place in Hanoi on the occasion of the Cultural Industry Traditional Day on August 28, 2024.
