The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that monitoring satellite cloud images, weather radar images and lightning positioning showed that the thunderstorm cloud area is developing and causing rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the entire neighborhoods, groups, hamlets, villages... in the following wards/communes: Cat Lai, Binh Trung, Long Hai, An Thoi Dong, Can Gio, Phuoc Hai, Long Son, Phuoc Thang, Long Dien, Thon 9, Long Huong, Ba Ria, Tan Hai, Ho Tram, Tan Phuoc, Tam Long, Dat Do, Binh Khanh, Thanh An, Chau Pha, Phu My, Nghia Thanh, Xuan Son, Hoa Hoi, Bau Lam, Hoa Hiep, Long Truong, Long Phuoc, Long Binh, Thuong Tan, Bac Tan Uyen, Suoi Con, Phuoc Hoa.

This morning, thunderstorms continued to develop, causing showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across the entire neighborhood, then spreading to some other places.

Rainfall is generally from 8-40mm, in some places over 50mm. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind of about level 5-7 (8-17m/s), heavy rain causing localized flooding.

At around 5am in Ho Chi Minh City, thunder and lightning started to rumble, startling many people. The thunder and lightning did not stop but spread more widely. At around 6am, rain started to appear in many areas, and the sky was cloudy.

Early morning rain is forecast to affect people's commute to work and school.

Regarding the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the South today, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in the evening, at night and in the morning there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places, and sunny days. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
