Many gratitude and exchange activities between Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and Division 5

From December 5-6, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation coordinated with Division 5 to organize the program "A day with soldiers", thereby strengthening the connection between the army and people and looking forward to the major anniversaries of the Vietnam People's Army.

The program was held on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2025), the 36th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2025) and the 60th anniversary of the 5th Division's Traditional Day (November 23, 1965 - November 23, 2025).

During the program, a delegation of 350 outstanding female workers and employees of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation performed the incense offering and flower laying ceremony to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs, and visited the symbol of the 5th Infantry Division and the unit's Traditional House. These activities helped to enhance the understanding of union members about the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army and the role of the armed forces in the cause of defending the Fatherland.

The delegation of Ho Chi Minh City trade union officials also exchanged and learned about the history of Division 5 through the ages. In addition, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Chay with a gift of 3 million VND and a gift worth 500,000 VND; visited and presented gifts to 4 military families (500,000 VND/gift) and 4 families in difficult circumstances (500,000 VND and a gift worth 500,000 VND/gift). The delegation also presented Division 5 with a total of 60 gifts worth 500,000 VND/gift to give to military families and presented 35 gifts (500,000 VND/gift) to the local Fatherland Front Committee to take care of disadvantaged households.

During the exchange, delegates were introduced to the movements of the two units, including the movement "Division 5 Tradition - Following the tradition, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the emulation movement "Good at public affairs, good at housework" implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City trade union at all levels in the period 2020-2025. The program also became exciting with cultural activities, sports and folk games between female employees of Ho Chi Minh City and soldiers of Division 5, creating a close and cohesive atmosphere.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan, member of the City Party Committee, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, emphasized the honor of being able to review with officers and soldiers the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, a revolutionary force with a working class nature and profound humanity. She said that the program not only creates an environment for exchange but also helps the trade union organization to see more clearly its responsibility in caring for the lives of workers and its attachment to the armed forces - those who always stand at the front line to protect the Fatherland.

From practical experiences, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation affirmed that the program contributes to strengthening solidarity and coordination between the union and the soldiers, while spreading the message of responsibility, heroic tradition and strong military-civilian relations in the cause of building and defending the country.
