As of November 2025, Hue City has 203 historical sites and complexes that have been officially classified by competent authorities; including 3 systems/complexes of special national-level historical sites, 96 national-level historical sites, and 104 city-level historical sites. In addition, 278 structures and sites have been approved and announced by the City People's Committee for inclusion in the city's inventory of historical sites.
Following the implementation of the two-tiered local government model, the People's Committee of Hue City issued a Decision assigning the management of classified historical sites. Currently, the city is drafting a Regulation on the management, protection, and promotion of the value of historical and cultural relics and scenic spots in Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue City) to replace Decision No. 82/2021/QD-UBND dated December 31, 2021, of the Provincial People's Committee.

In 2025, the city collaborated with the National History Museum to excavate the Lieu Coc Twin Towers (phase 2); monitored and guided the completion of the excavation dossier for the Dai Cung Mon Gate (Hue Imperial Citadel). The city also coordinated the organization of the 5th Regional Conference of the Organization of World Heritage Cities in the Asia-Pacific region. Simultaneously, it held a city-level council meeting to finalize the dossiers for the fourth round of nominations to the Ministry-level specialized council for the titles of "People's Artisan" and "Outstanding Artisan" in the field of intangible cultural heritage, with 5 nominations for "People's Artisan" and 17 nominations for "Outstanding Artisan".
In addition, the city is implementing the "Protection and Promotion of the Value of Hue Traditional Singing Art Heritage until 2030" project; building a dossier on "Hue Traditional Singing Art" to propose to UNESCO for inscription as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The city is also developing the "Protection and Promotion of the Value of Hue Traditional Ao Dai Tailoring and Wearing Knowledge Heritage" project; implementing a plan to support non-governmental museums according to the Resolution on policies to support the development of non-governmental museums in Hue City until 2030. Simultaneously, it is completing the acceptance of the city-level science and technology project "Research on building a database on the festival system in Thua Thien Hue", and finalizing many scientific dossiers for nominating heritage items to the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Throughout the year, the locality also successfully organized and co-organized numerous festivals, art performances, and film programs; many fine arts, photography, and exhibition activities. In particular, the city collaborated with units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize exchanges, creative works, and photo exhibitions within the framework of the 3rd "Vietnam International Photography Festival"; participated in the first month's event with the theme "Vietnamese Culture and Creativity" at the EXPO 2025 World Exhibition in Japan, focusing on promoting the image of Hue and introducing the Hue National Tourism Year 2025.

Regarding the cultural industry, Hue continues to implement many programs and projects aimed at gradually transforming heritage into assets, contributing to the promotion of the local economy and society. The city successfully organized the Hue Community Ao Dai Week; and created several new artistic products with a strong creative imprint such as: "Hue Symphony", "The East Concert", "Hue Mega Booming"… Currently, the city is developing a plan to create a dossier on "Hue - Creative City of Gastronomy" to nominate it to participate in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
In the field of sports, the city has achieved many successes in both mass sports, high-performance sports, and professional sports, as well as in the training and development of human resources. To date, the city's athletes have participated in regional, national, and international sports competitions, winning more than 709 medals of all kinds, including 57 international medals.
Regarding tourism, in the first 11 months of 2025, the number of visitors to Hue is estimated at 5.8 million, an increase of 65.3% compared to the same period last year; of which international visitors are estimated at 1.7 million, an increase of 40.9%. The number of overnight stays is estimated at 2.2 million, an increase of 19.1%. Revenue from tourism is estimated at nearly 11,747.9 billion VND, an increase of 62.7% compared to the same period.

It is estimated that by the end of 2025, Hue will receive approximately 6.3 million visitors, a 61.5% increase compared to the same period; of which international visitors are estimated at 1.9 million, a 40.6% increase. Tourism revenue is estimated at over 13,000 billion VND, a 64.4% increase.
2025 also marks many significant events for Hue, as the city successfully organized a series of activities within the framework of the Hue National Tourism Year 2025; participated in the Vietnam Tourism, Food and Craft Village Week in France, Italy, and Switzerland; and participated in the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Program in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany as planned by the Vietnam National Tourism Administration. Currently, the city is actively preparing for the Closing Ceremony of the Hue National Tourism Year 2025.
