Many new models aim for circular production along the Guilin value chain

(Baohatinh.vn) - Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company continues to deploy many new models in Ha Tinh, changing the awareness of managers and people about organic agricultural production and circular economy.

After a period of research, learning techniques and experience from models, in 2025, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hao in Ngu Que village (Cam Binh commune) began to develop black soldier fly farming on a commercial scale. This method not only helps to effectively treat organic waste but is also environmentally friendly, does not cause bad odors, and does not generate wastewater.

In 2025, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hao in Ngu Que village (Cam Binh commune) started raising black soldier flies on a commercial scale.

Mr. Hao shared: “Black soldier flies have a high reproductive capacity, are completely harmless and do not transmit diseases to humans. From eggs to mature larvae only takes about 10 - 15 days. Currently, I can produce more than 750 kg of fresh larvae per month, equivalent to nearly 250 kg of dried larvae. This source of dried larvae is mixed into feed for chickens and pigs to help livestock grow well; at the same time, organic fertilizer is used to fertilize crops, bringing clear economic and environmental efficiency.”

Recently, a delegation from the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, the Vietnam Association of Circular Agriculture, and representatives from a number of departments, branches and sectors inside and outside the province visited the black soldier fly farming model.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Vuong - Vice President of the Vietnam Circular Agriculture Association assessed: "This is a new model following the chain of Que Lam in Ha Tinh . Many studies have also shown that black soldier fly larvae have the ability to quickly decompose complex organic compounds and convert them into biomass with high nutritional value, opening up a direction for sustainable application in modern agriculture. In particular, the farming process contributes to reducing emissions and improving the efficiency of recycling organic waste in households and farms."

The process of raising black soldier flies utilizes agricultural by-products, contributing to reducing emissions and improving production efficiency.

In addition to the black soldier fly farming model, the organic waste treatment model is also a circular economic solution that Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company is focusing on implementing. After 3 years of implementation, the treatment of organic waste such as vegetables, tubers, fruits, etc. from the local market with Que Lam Bio QL01 biological product at the Le Van Binh centralized waste treatment model (Cam Binh commune) has shown clear effectiveness.

Mr. Binh said: “Each month, the model provides about 5-6 quintals of organic fertilizer, sold at about 150,000 VND/quintal, meeting the needs of local people. From the waste source at the market that is thought to be discarded, which easily pollutes the environment, through the correct processing steps, it becomes quality organic fertilizer. Thanks to that, a closed loop is formed, both reducing pollution and bringing a more stable source of income for the family.”

In particular, the model solves a great deal of environmental problems. Organic waste from the market is collected and treated hygienically, without backlog. Collecting and treating waste at the source has helped reduce 50% of the cost of collecting and transporting waste from the market to the treatment plant.

Each month, the model provides about 5 - 6 quintals of organic fertilizer, meeting the needs of local people.

From the two models, it is clear that the circularity is formed naturally but tightly throughout the entire production process. The common point of both models is that they do not create secondary waste, do not use chemicals and make the most of by-products for reuse many times. The connection between the steps from waste treatment, food creation, fertilizer production, and farming clearly demonstrates the circularity factor, reducing environmental pollution, saving costs and increasing added value for people.

In addition, Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company is also continuing to expand the livestock value chain, accompanying the province in realizing the goal of "greening" agriculture. After learning, Mr. Vo Cong Thieu (Hoang Dieu village, Ky Anh commune) started raising cows in an organic direction with a scale of about 30 cows/batch, completely applying Que Lam's process, treating waste at the source with Que Lam Bio QL01 biological product to make organic fertilizer for his family's pasture.

Mr. Thieu said: “Biological products help eliminate odors from livestock farming, which is very suitable for current household farming. In addition, I also cooperate with Que Lam Company to produce 3 hectares of organic rice. This is a proactive, good quality food source for cows, while making the most of by-products from rice production, creating a closed cycle, reducing costs and limiting waste.”

Mr. Vo Cong Thieu (Hoang Dieu village, Ky Anh commune) shares information about the livestock farming model linked with Que Lam.

Up to now, the total organic production area associated with Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company in the province has reached more than 500 hectares, with key crop groups such as rice, oranges, grapefruit, dragon fruit, watermelon... Along with that, the organic livestock system in the chain has also been expanded with 327 sows, 6,500 pigs; 5,000 chickens; about 50 cows;...

The models participating in the Que Lam chain have gradually changed the awareness of managers and people about organic agricultural production and circular economy; forming new farming practices to replace traditional methods. During the implementation process, production facilities basically comply with organic standards, do not use chemicals, and ensure safety from planting to raising.

Recently, the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, the Vietnam Association of Circular Agriculture and Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company signed a memorandum of cooperation on accompanying the construction and development of organic agriculture, circular economy, and the Que Lam value chain in the province for the period 2025 - 2030. In particular, many important cooperation contents are focused on such as developing value chains; applying science and technology, innovation into organic and circular agricultural economy; training human resources; building model villages of ecological agriculture, organic and circular agriculture;... The cooperation between social organizations, enterprises and localities is expected to strongly promote the transition from traditional production to organic - circular agricultural models, in line with the green development trend of the province in the coming years.
