According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2025, there will be no more early admission in university admissions, but currently many schools have announced opening early admission portals. Why?
Candidates are required to provide evidence.
Recently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has just announced 5 admission methods for the 51st regular university course in 2025 of the school, including method 1: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; method 2: admission of candidates who graduated from foreign high school programs and have international certificates; method 3: admission of candidates with good academic results; method 4: admission of candidates with results of the competency assessment test combined with English proficiency; method 5: admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Notably, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics announced: "The time to open UEH's admission portal for candidates to provide evidence of criteria for admission methods 2, 3, 4: from June 2 to July 28".
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education also organized for candidates to submit proof of the school's bonus points and convert English scores for admission online on the school's admission portal from May 8 to 5:00 p.m. on July 17.
The school requires that candidates wishing to be admitted to the school must provide appropriate evidence. If the evidence is not provided within the prescribed time, the school will not add the school's priority points after announcing the admission results.
Foreign Trade University stipulates that for admission methods using high school academic results, admission methods using domestic and international competency assessment test results, and direct admission methods, candidates must register for admission in 2 steps: step 1 - expected from June 9 to 5:00 p.m. on June 22 on the school's admissions portal; step 2 - expected from July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28 on the Ministry of Education and Training's admissions portal.
The school notes that candidates must complete all 2 steps as required by the school. The time to announce the admission results is according to the general admission plan of the Ministry (expected on August 22).
For the group of candidates who will be considered for admission, combining the 2025 high school results and international language certificates, candidates will also register for admission in 2 steps: step 1 - expected from July 21 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28 on the school's admission portal; step 2 - expected from July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28 on the ministry's admission portal.
National Economics University announced admission according to the general admission plan for 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training, but with its own regulations. Specifically: candidates submit applications for direct admission and priority admission online on the National Economics University system and according to the detailed announcement of the school.
For combined admission and admission based on high school graduation exam results, candidates submit combined admission applications online on the school's system and on the ministry's system according to the school's detailed announcement and the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
No additional fees
Speaking with Tuoi Tre, a representative of Foreign Trade University said that according to this year's enrollment regulations, the Ministry of Education and Training no longer organizes early admissions, so the school also does not conduct early admissions.
In the 2025 enrollment information, the school stipulates the deadline for candidates to submit applications for some of the school's own admission methods before the high school graduation exam. These are methods for which candidates have accumulated enough admission requirements before the high school graduation exam, such as high school academic results, excellent student awards, international foreign language certificates, and domestic and international competency assessment certificates.
"This is aimed at preparing data in advance for the admission process, ensuring readiness when applying the score conversion formula between admission methods according to the general instructions of the Ministry after the high school graduation exam results are available. The admission results of all methods will be announced according to the general schedule prescribed by the Ministry, without any form of early announcement.
Collecting information early does not violate the regulations on canceling early admission, and at the same time helps ensure progress and quality in the admission data processing process. The school does not collect fees for all admission methods, candidates only pay the admission fee according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on the ministry's admission information portal," he added.
Similarly, a representative of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics also confirmed that the school will not organize early admissions this year. This is clearly stated in the school's admissions announcements. On June 2, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics plans to open the admissions portal for candidates to submit evidence of admission criteria, but will not collect additional fees.
The Department of Publication is an open school.
Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Thang - Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - said that the school will also announce the timeline and open the enrollment registration portal as soon as the Ministry of Education and Training announces the detailed enrollment plan for 2025.
"From 2024 onwards, for candidates registering for international programs on the admission portal of the University of Science and Technology, the school will collect additional fees to organize English proficiency tests, support the assessment process, consult with learners... However, this year the school plans not to collect anything additional, just according to the ministry's fees," Mr. Thang shared.
Avoid complaints later
MSc. Cu Xuan Tien - Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department of University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) - said that all universities will open admission portals for candidates to update their application documents.
"I think this is something that should be done so that candidates can provide more information to serve the admission process, to avoid complaints later. In fact, the admission requirements at many schools are different, so the Ministry of Education and Training's admission portal is difficult to meet all of them," Mr. Tien emphasized.
