State Bank of Region 15 and An Giang Police strengthen coordination to ensure monetary and banking security

On the afternoon of December 2, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Branch in Region 15 and the An Giang Provincial Police held a conference to review the implementation of the Coordination Regulations in ensuring security, order and safety of monetary and banking activities in the province.

Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee and representatives of the province's specialized agencies, the Board of Directors of the State Bank of Vietnam Region 15, An Giang Provincial Police, local police forces and leaders of credit institutions in the area.

Outstanding cooperation results in 2025

The assessment report at the conference said that in 2025, the State Bank of Vietnam Region 15 and An Giang Provincial Police will maintain a close coordination mechanism, contributing to maintaining the security of the banking system and stabilizing the financial and monetary market.

Specifically, handling counterfeit money crimes, preventing "black credit", and ensuring the security of credit institutions, including timely handling of cases related to card fraud and account appropriation.

The authorities have coordinated to crack down on gold and foreign currency smuggling to ensure stable prices and market order in the area. In addition, the State Bank of Vietnam Region 15 directed credit institutions to strengthen system security, prevent fraud, authenticate customers with citizen identification, implement Project 06, check fire prevention and fighting and protect targets.

The results show the synchronous and drastic participation of the banking and police sectors, contributing to maintaining social order and safety and strengthening the trust of people and businesses in the banking system.

At the conference, leaders of An Giang Provincial Police and State Bank of Vietnam Region 15 awarded the collective of State Bank of Vietnam Inspectorate Region 15, the Economic Security Department of the Provincial Police and individuals with outstanding achievements in coordinating to protect security and order in the monetary and banking sector.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Van Phuoc, Acting Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 15 Branch, emphasized that An Giang is the province with the third largest population in the country, a strongly developed banking system with 80 bank branches, 42 People's Credit Funds, a network covering the whole province, and total assets reaching more than 300,000 billion VND.

He said that for the banking system to play its role in socio-economic development, ensuring security and safety of operations is a key factor. The summary and signing of the Coordination Regulations under Regulation No. 04/QCPH-BCS-NHNNN is of great significance, aiming to enhance the responsibility and effectiveness of coordination between the two sectors in the coming period.

Representative of An Giang Provincial Police, Mr. Dao Hai Dang, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, affirmed that the police force will continue to accompany and support the banking industry in protecting financial and monetary security, protecting agencies and units and ensuring system safety.

According to the new coordination regulations, the banking and police sectors in An Giang will continue to exchange information to serve state management in the monetary and banking sector; coordinate to protect the safety of headquarters and treasury; protect state secrets; protect internal politics ; fight against crimes related to counterfeit money, fraud, property appropriation, high-tech crimes, money laundering, terrorist financing, foreign exchange violations and gold trading; support the implementation of national digital transformation, reform of administrative procedures and build a movement for the whole people to protect national security at banks.

The signing of the Coordination Regulations between the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 15 Branch, and An Giang Provincial Police affirms the determination of the two sectors in maintaining financial and monetary security, building a safe and transparent banking environment, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of An Giang province in the new period.
