The project to construct Provincial Road 155, the section from Mong Sen Bridge to Sa Pa, has a total investment of 360 billion VND and will be implemented in the period 2023-2026. This is a crucial transportation route connecting the Sa Pa tourist area with neighboring regions, contributing to the development of tourism, the economy , and the lives of people in the area.
To date, the main components of the project include the construction of the bridge and road sections. Among these, the Trung Chải 2 and Trung Chải 3 bridges are key construction points, determining the progress of the entire route. Simultaneously, sections of the roadbed have been and are being leveled and prepared to create a surface for subsequent construction phases.

At the Trung Chải 2 bridge construction site, the atmosphere remains bustling despite the approaching Lunar New Year. Mr. Trịnh Quang Vinh, the site manager of the Lào Cai Inspection and Construction Joint Stock Company, shared: "In the initial phase, the project faced numerous difficulties due to obstacles in land clearance, preventing the simultaneous implementation of construction. However, as soon as the land was fully handed over, the company immediately mobilized maximum manpower and machinery, organizing overtime shifts to compensate for the delays."
According to Mr. Vinh, the unit's goal is to strive to complete the bridge sections about two months ahead of schedule. Therefore, even though there is only a little over a week left until the Lunar New Year, dozens of workers are still staying at the construction site, taking advantage of favorable weather to work continuously. Quick meals at the temporary shelters and long shifts that last until late at night have become commonplace for the construction team here.

Not only the bridge section, but also the roadbed leveling work on the provincial road is being accelerated. Construction and Trading Company 299 is currently undertaking many important roadbed projects. According to Mr. Phuong Dang Chinh, a technical officer of the company, the company begins construction as soon as the local authorities hand over the land to avoid wasting time.
"Even though Tet (Lunar New Year) is very close, the workers are still trying their best to stay on the construction site. Machinery and equipment are being mobilized to the maximum extent to level and prepare the roadbed. The motto is to start construction as soon as the land is available, in order to keep up with the overall progress of the entire project," Chinh shared.
Simultaneous construction on multiple fronts helps reduce pressure on the schedule for later phases, especially since the 2026 rainy season could affect the construction plan if the roadbed sections are not completed early.
At Trung Chai 2 and Trung Chai 3 bridges, important components such as abutments, piers, and prestressed concrete beams have been basically completed; currently, the units are focusing on completing auxiliary items. Mr. Le Xuan Hung - Deputy Director of Lao Cai Bridge Joint Stock Company, said that the unit is taking advantage of favorable weather to complete the remaining work, trying to finish before the rainy season.
According to Mr. Hung, along with maintaining the construction workforce, the company also focuses on taking care of the lives of its employees at the end of the year. Salaries, bonuses, and travel allowances are carefully prepared so that workers can work with peace of mind before the Tet holiday. This ensures both the project's progress and motivates employees to continue working on the project in the future.

Throughout the entire route, the spirit of urgency and responsibility demonstrated by the participating units is evident. With each passing day, bridges and roads gradually take shape, raising hopes for a safe transportation route that will help alleviate traffic congestion and promote socio-economic development in neighboring communes and the Sa Pa tourist area.
As spring approaches, many workers choose to stay at the construction site to complete their unfinished tasks before returning home to reunite with their families. The sweat soaking their shirts in the chilly highland weather is a testament to the enthusiastic and responsible work ethic of those who are contributing day and night to building a new transportation infrastructure for the locality.

Provincial Road 155, the section from Mong Sen Bridge to Sa Pa, is not just a simple transportation project, but also a route that opens up development opportunities for many areas along the way. And in the days leading up to Tet, when many places are bustling with preparations for the spring festival, on this construction site, spring seems to arrive earlier, amidst the bustling sounds of construction machinery and the determination to complete the project ahead of schedule.
