Vietnamese athletics has its ups and downs.
Specifically, Vietnamese athletics achieved excellent results with 2 SEA Games gold medals (Ho Trong Manh Hung - triple jump, Bui Thi Ngan - women's 1,500m), 1 silver medal (Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh - women's 1,500m) and 3 bronze medals (Ha Thi Thu - women's 100m, Luong Duc Phuoc - 1,500m, Le Thi Cam Dung - discus throw). Besides the impressive achievements, the athletes also brought many different emotions to Vietnamese athletics fans.

The first emotion was disappointment. Ngan Ngoc Nghia, who won the silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games in the men's 100m event, failed to qualify for the next round.

She made a great effort to qualify for the women's 100m race, but had to withdraw in the final due to injury.

The excitement gradually built up as Luong Duc Phuoc won the bronze medal in the 1,500m event.

In this event, we also feel a sense of pride, thanks to the courageous fighting spirit of Sam Van Doi. He suffered an injury during the competition, but still made an effort to drag his painful, weary steps to the finish line.

And then, upon completing the task, Đời immediately lay down because he could no longer bear the pain.

The suspense and drama reached a climax during the showdown between Bui Thi Ngan (left) and Nguyen Khanh Linh in the women's 1,500m final. The two Vietnamese athletes pulled far ahead of the rest, constantly battling each other for every inch.

In the final meters, Ngan pulled ahead and deservedly won the gold medal. Afterwards, the two girls shared a warm embrace.

Ho Trong Manh Hung was also very proud to win the gold medal in the triple jump.

For Ha Thi Thu (center), emotions are like a sine wave graph.

She managed to finish third in the women's 100m race. This is a tough event to compete in, as the regional competitors are all very strong.

Therefore, winning the bronze medal was already a success. Thu waited for the results, then quietly went inside when the organizers announced that she finished in 4th place.

This is the preliminary result announced by the organizing committee.

But then, the organizers changed the decision. Thu's time remained the same, but she was moved up to 3rd place. The reason was that the Filipino athlete, Knott Marie, was moved down from 1st place (11.31 seconds) to 6th place (11.71 seconds). A reporter from Thanh Nien contacted the organizers to find out the reason and received the answer that it was "due to a technical error" in the system.
