
Realizing the potential and trend of searching for tourism information via social networks, many people like Mr. Hoang Vu, Huu Lien community tourism village, Huu Lien commune have decided to invest in technology to serve tourism. Since 2018, in addition to giving directions or taking visitors to visit places such as Dong Lam grassland, Khe Dau waterfall..., Mr. Vu has bought a camera and started taking photos and videos of natural landscapes, cultural beauty, customs and practices of the Tay, Nung, Dao people and family tourism services to share on social networks. Currently, Hoang Vu's Facebook account has nearly 9,000 followers.
Thanks to social networks, the beauty of Huu Lien was introduced and spread quickly, helping him receive many calls asking for advice and tour guides. Mr. Ngo Van Truong, a tourist from Hai Phong, shared: “I came to Lang Son because I watched short clips and beautiful images on Hoang Vu's facebook. I texted directly and Mr. Vu enthusiastically advised me on tourist attractions, delicious food and helped my family save beautiful photos. Therefore, our trip to Huu Lien in early November 2025 was very smooth and fun.”
Similarly, in Bac Son commune, Mr. Hoang Cong Hung, owner of the traditional yin-yang tile village, has become a real "tourism ambassador". Starting in 2023, when he was invited by tourists to be a tour guide to explore the process of making handmade tiles, he used digital platforms to post and promote the beauty of the village. Thanks to that, by 2024, the yin-yang tile village will not only be a famous tourist destination but also officially be included in the tourist route No. 3 of the Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark. Notably, the number of tourists to the craft village in 2025 will also increase 10 times compared to 2024. Mr. Hung said: Not only me, but many local people can become "tourism ambassadors" to guide tourists to places to visit, eat and stay in the area. Because in the past time, we have been given the opportunity by all levels and sectors to participate in training courses on tourist behavior culture and customer service skills.
In addition to the typical examples mentioned above, many other "tourism ambassadors" in the village also actively spread the culture of Lang Son on digital platforms such as: Mr. Hoang Viet Chien (61 years old, Tay ethnic group), owner of the YouTube channel "Huong sac Xu Lang", has posted more than 2,000 videos about then singing, sli, luon, lion dance, attracting more than 50,000 subscribers. Ms. Dang Thi Tho (Ba Nang village, Cai Kinh commune) with the TikTok account "Tho nong san" has attracted millions of likes thanks to short videos introducing Lang Son specialties.
From prominent individuals of many ages, the pioneers promoting tourism through many forms, especially through social networks, have become real "tourism ambassadors". Typical examples include nearly 60 households with hundreds of local people in 6 community tourism villages of the province who have been equipped with knowledge and trained to become on-site "tourism ambassadors", mastering the civilized code of conduct and conveying the cultural beauty and identity of Lang Son to tourists. Thereby, contributing significantly to the overall growth of the province's tourism industry. In the first 9 months of 2025, the total number of tourists to Lang Son is estimated at over 3.7 million, up 2.4%; revenue is estimated at over 3.5 trillion VND, up 12.2% over the same period in 2024.
In addition to the efforts of the people, the above results are also due to the attention and encouragement of all levels and sectors, especially the effectiveness of the launch of the program "Lang Son Tourism Ambassador" which was specified by the Provincial People's Committee in Plan No. 240, dated November 25, 2022. Mr. Luu Ba Mac, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) said: In order for the program "Lang Son Tourism Ambassador" to be launched effectively, in recent years, the department has focused on propagating, guiding, and widely disseminating the code of conduct for civilized tourism to orient, raise awareness, change behavior, form habits, attitudes, and friendly, civilized, and polite behavior for organizations and individuals participating in tourism activities; at the same time, mobilize the participation of all levels, sectors, organizations, businesses, and communities; actively use social networks as a communication platform.
From 2023 to now, there have been over 200 news, articles and photos from press agencies promoting the program "Lang Son Tourism Ambassador"; The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has developed documents on the code of conduct for civilized tourism and shared it widely with agencies, units, businesses and tourism business households in the localities. The industry has also organized 20 tourism training courses attracting thousands of officials and people working in the tourism sector.
It can be seen that the greatest success of the program "Lang Son Tourism Ambassador" is turning each citizen into a true "tourism ambassador". From there, spreading the cultural values and unique identity of Lang Son. This not only helps attract tourists, increase income for local people but also affirms the position of Lang Son as a friendly and rich destination.
