These spring voyages carry an important mission: to strengthen patrols, control, and enforcement of fisheries laws, combat IUU fishing, and support fishermen in venturing out to sea and maintaining their livelihoods, thereby contributing to the firm protection of the nation's maritime sovereignty and islands.

The commander of Fisheries Patrol Squadron No. 3 presented gifts and extended New Year greetings to the ships. |
Towards the end of the year, fishing activities are usually busier for local fishermen due to increased demand for seafood. However, this is also a time when violations related to fishing activities are more likely to occur, especially IUU violations such as: fishing in the wrong waters, using the wrong fishing gear, violating regulations on vessel tracking devices, or fishing in foreign waters. In response to this situation, the KN 306 and KN 317 patrol boats are tasked with strengthening patrols, inspections, and legal education for fishermen, ready to handle violations; and simultaneously supporting and assisting fishermen, carrying out search and rescue missions when necessary.

Fisheries patrol boats are wrapping banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), preparing to celebrate Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) at sea. |
During the course of their duties, the Fisheries Surveillance vessels are also tasked with detecting, preventing, and resolutely expelling foreign fishing vessels that illegally encroach upon Vietnam's waters to exploit marine resources.
During a visit to encourage, extend New Year greetings, and assign tasks to officers and staff of the ships, Comrade Vu Van Tai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Fisheries Patrol Team No. 3, emphasized: “The task of patrolling at sea during Tet this time is of special importance, demonstrating the responsibility and determination of the Fisheries Patrol force in enforcing fisheries laws, combating IUU fishing, and contributing to firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands, so that the mainland can enjoy a joyful and complete spring.”
Before the ship sets sail, all preparations are complete and ready. Onboard, trays of five kinds of fruit, branches of apricot and peach blossoms, and green sticky rice cakes will contribute to creating a joyful Tet atmosphere far out at sea, dispelling homesickness and further strengthening the spirit of unity, camaraderie, and determination of each officer and employee to successfully complete their mission.
