The BIM Group IRONMAN 70.3 Phu Quoc 2025 Event Week (November 14-16, 2025), organized by Sunrise Events Vietnam in collaboration with the People's Committee of An Giang Province and strategic sponsor BIM Group, concluded with impressive competition moments, reflecting the sustainable development of the triathlon movement in Vietnam. This year's season saw the number of Vietnamese athletes increase by nearly 25% compared to 2024, marking an important step forward in the journey to expand the domestic endurance sports community.

The participation of more than 2,000 athletes from 60 countries and territories has created a vibrant race with outstanding professional quality, the top in the region. Favorable competition conditions, enthusiastic cheers from the audience and the determination of each athlete have once again affirmed Phu Quoc Marina and Phu Quoc Pearl Island as the ideal destination for the Asian IRONMAN community.

The 2025 season in Phu Quoc also has a special mark as it is the event that concludes the 10th anniversary of IRONMAN's presence in Vietnam - a milestone marking the maturity of the triathlon movement and the enduring connection of the athlete community throughout a decade.
Two champions reaffirm their thrones
As the decade of IRONMAN in Vietnam comes to a close, the outstanding performances of the champions further highlight the significance of this year's race.
In the men's category, Kenshin Mizushima (Japan), the 2023 champion, re-established himself as the overall leader with a time of 04:06:55, extending his winning streak after his victory at IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2025, and also leading both the men's A-List category and the 18-24 age group. Alex Thio (Singapore) followed in second with a time of 04:15:15. Third place in the men's category went to Marcel van Oudtshoorn (Germany) with a result of 04:22:20.
In the women's category, Ling Er Choo (Singapore) successfully defended her title with a time of 04:48:4, and also led both the A-List women's category and the 35-39 age group. Hannah Gibson (Australia) and Hanh Nguyen (Vietnam) finished second and third with results of 04:49:54 and 04:50:32, respectively.
Special impressions from inspirational faces
The 2025 season is more complete when gathering many influential athletes in the international and Vietnamese endurance sports community. Their presence not only brings impressive performances but also highlights the meaning of the journey to celebrate 10 years of IRONMAN in Vietnam.
Six-time IRONMAN World Championship champion Mark Allen made a surprise return after nearly 30 years of retirement when participating in the open water swimming portion of the relay. His appearance at Phu Quoc Marina became a special symbol, demonstrating the attraction of the tournament and strongly inspiring thousands of athletes.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, Vietnam’s “golden swimmer”, 25-time SEA Games gold medalist and two-time Olympic participant, marked a remarkable return to two consecutive tournaments. She and her teammates successfully brought home second place in the men’s-women’s relay category at BIM Group IRONMAN 70.3 Phu Quoc. This achievement shows the courageous return and outstanding adaptability of one of the most representative athletes of Vietnamese sports.
Notably, elite athletes such as Kenshin Mizushima, Alex Thio, Ling Er Choo, Hannah Gibson, Hanh Nguyen, Le Nhat Tai... are all in the A-List group, representing experienced faces, outstanding achievements and strong influence. Their leading achievements not only continue to contribute to improving the professional quality of the tournament but also contribute to spreading the spirit of going beyond limits, promoting the triathlon community in Vietnam to develop more strongly.
