In addition to exercise helping to promote the release of the "happy" hormone dopamine, eating the right foods can also have a similar effect.

According to ETToday , below are foods that help improve mood and reduce tension and stress.

Fatty fish

Fatty fish or oily fish such as salmon, mackerel, and tuna are all rich in omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin D.

These substances can help reduce depression and boost the body's immunity.

Dark chocolate

Caffeine and flavonoids in chocolate create a feeling of refreshment and promote the secretion of serotonin - a hormone that plays a role in stabilizing mood.

Choose dark chocolate with a cocoa content of over 80% to achieve this effect.

On the contrary, white chocolate contains high levels of milk sugar and low cocoa content, which does not provide this benefit and can easily make you addicted to sugar, making it difficult to control your weight.

Nuts

Almonds, walnuts, macadamia nuts, cashews... contain large amounts of vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids that are beneficial for brain health and reduce stress.

Tryptophan, found in abundance in nuts, is also a raw material for the production of serotonin, which helps stabilize mood.

Fresh fruits and vegetables

Gut health and physical and mental health are closely linked.

Consuming foods rich in vitamins and fiber helps maintain effective digestive function, balance intestinal bacteria and ensure stable serotonin secretion.

When digestion is good, the body is light, contributing to a comfortable mind, making it easier to control all situations.

Green tea

Theanine in green tea increases serotonin and dopamine levels in the brain, which can help improve mood effectively.

However, if you are prone to insomnia when drinking green tea, it is best not to drink it to avoid creating a vicious cycle, making the body more tired and stressed.
