Actor Thuong Tin passed away at 6:50 p.m. on December 8, at the age of 69.

Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, musician To Hieu - the person who was close to and helped actor Thuong Tin in the last years of his life - felt moved and sad.

On November 25, he called to check on Thuong Tin in his hometown of Phan Rang, worried that he was affected by the storm and flood. On the other end of the line, his family said he was in the hospital and had completely deteriorated.

"At that time, he was no longer fully conscious and lost control of his personal affairs. His health was very weak and his whole body was covered in sores. Mr. Tin could not even remember his most beloved daughter. He maintained that state for a few short days and then passed away," To Hieu said.

When Thuong Tin fell and broke both patellas in his right knee, his family asked his ex-wife, Bui Kim Chi, to take their daughter to visit her father, but she never did.

This made Thuong Tin miss his daughter day and night, making him sad and depressed. At around 6am this morning, Chi took Thach Thao to see her father for the last time.

Since arriving in Phan Rang, Thanh Tung - Thuong Tin's son - has been sad and silent, not saying a word, only showing remorse and blaming himself.

Actor Thuong Tin's funeral begins at 8am this morning. Tomorrow, December 10th, his relatives will take him to the cemetery for burial.

Thuong Tin was born in 1956, participated in nearly 200 films and became famous in the 1980s - 1990s. He appeared in films such as Saigon Special Forces, Flip Card Game, Battlefield Splits Half Moon, SBC ... He also played more than 100 dramatic roles, mainly as the main actor and supporting actor.

In his old age, Thuong Tin lived alone, being taken care of by a number of people, including musician To Hieu. He lived in To Hieu's house in Hoc Mon for 2 years, and was taken care of by him.

In early 2021, Thuong Tin suffered a stroke and his health seriously declined. In September 2024, he fell while getting off a bus and had to be hospitalized.

At the end of December 2024, Thuong Tin went to the Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic Hospital for examination and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the right knee and a broken patella.

After many ups and downs, he chose to enjoy his old age in his hometown Phan Rang.
