Ninh Binh adjusts visitor schedule for Tet 2026: Important notes for your spring trip.

The Ninh Binh Department of Tourism has just announced its operating schedule for the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday. While Trang An and Tuyet Tinh Coc will be temporarily closed for a few days, many other destinations will remain open throughout the holiday to serve tourists.

If you are planning a spring trip to Ninh Binh, the "heritage hub," during the 2026 Lunar New Year, please note the important changes to the operating hours of key attractions to plan your itinerary accordingly.

Temporary suspension of visitor access at popular destinations.

According to information from the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism , in order to facilitate preparations and staffing arrangements for the holiday, several tourist areas will temporarily close on February 16th and 17th (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month and the 1st day of the Lunar New Year). These locations include: Trang An Tourist Area, Van Long Lagoon, Tuyet Tinh Coc, and Ngam Mountain Eco-tourism Area.

Trang An tourist area in Ninh Binh — Trang An tourist area will temporarily close to visitors on January 29th and February 1st (the first two days of the Lunar New Year) to prepare staff.

In addition, some locations have more specific holiday schedules. The bear sanctuary will be closed from February 15th to February 19th (from the 28th of the 12th lunar month to the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year). The Dinosaur Park will also temporarily close from February 12th to February 17th (from the 25th of the 12th lunar month to the 1st day of the Lunar New Year).

Specifically for the Tam Coc - Bich Dong tourist area, the operating schedule is flexibly adjusted according to the following time slots: on February 16th (29th of the Lunar New Year), it will be closed from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and on February 17th (1st day of the Lunar New Year), it will be closed from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Tourist attractions remain open throughout the Lunar New Year holiday to serve visitors.

In contrast to the aforementioned locations, many other famous landmarks in Ninh Binh remained open throughout the Tet holiday to meet the needs of people traveling during the spring festival. The list of open places includes: Bai Dinh Pagoda, Mua Cave, Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Hoa Lu Old Town, Thung Ui, and Tam Chuc.

Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival — Bai Dinh Pagoda is one of the spiritual destinations that remains open throughout the Tet holiday to serve tourists.

Additionally, nature - loving tourists can choose to visit Thung Nham Bird Garden, Cuc Phuong National Park, or Xuan Thuy National Park during the first days of the new year.

Expectations for a breakthrough in Ninh Binh tourism in 2026.

Ninh Binh is currently asserting its position as a major "heritage center" of the country with over 5,000 inventoried relics, including 10 special national relics. Following the resounding success of 2025 with revenue exceeding 21,200 billion VND, the local tourism industry continues to set ambitious goals.

Mr. Bui Van Manh, Director of the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, said the province aims to welcome 20 million tourists in 2026, with a particular focus on attracting 3 million international visitors. The early announcement of the Tet holiday activity schedule is a positive step that helps tourists and travel agencies proactively plan their itineraries, avoiding any unforeseen circumstances when visiting the ancient capital.
