Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Dang Quynh, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front; leaders of various departments and agencies; and a large number of domestic and international tourists.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Song Tung, Standing Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, affirmed: Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2026 is a cultural and tourism event of special importance, contributing to promoting the image of the heritage land, and realizing the goal of making Ninh Binh a national and international-level center for heritage, ecological and cultural tourism.
The highlight of the opening night was the elaborate and large-scale live performance "A Thousand-Year-Old Painting," featuring hundreds of professional artists, actors, and folk artisans from across the country. The stage was designed to blend seamlessly with the natural beauty of Tam Coc, combining modern sound and lighting systems with LED projection technology to create a breathtaking spectacle amidst the picturesque Ngo Dong River.
The program consists of three chapters: "The Legend of Tam Coc", "Exploration and Experience", and "Ninh Binh - A Destination of the World", vividly recreating the historical journey, culture, and magnificent natural beauty of this heritage land.
In particular, the grand spectacle of "The Golden Colors of Tam Coc," featuring the image of golden rice fields stretching across the foot of limestone mountains, moved and filled thousands of spectators with pride. The artistic performances, a blend of folk music, contemporary music, EDM, and modern light shows, created a festival atmosphere that was both traditional and youthful, full of vitality.
In the shimmering light of thousands of floating lanterns on the Ngo Dong River, the sounds of music, joyful cheers, and radiant smiles blended together to create a memorable festival night. The "Golden Colors of Tam Coc - Trang An" festival in 2026 not only contributes to promoting the beauty of Ninh Binh to international friends but also awakens pride, solidarity, and the aspiration for development among the people of this ancient capital region.
The opening night concluded with a spectacular fireworks display illuminating the Tam Coc sky, leaving a lasting impression on both locals and tourists. A new, colorful, vibrant, and culturally rich tourism season has officially begun in the heritage land of Ninh Binh.
