Ninh Binh unanimously introduces 38 candidates for National Assembly deputies

On the afternoon of December 8, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Binh province held the first consultation conference to agree on the structure, composition, and number of candidates nominated to run for the 16th National Assembly and the 16th Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council, term 2026 - 2031.

Mr. Mai Van Tuat, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Binh province, emphasized that the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is an important political event of the country, a broad democratic activity among the people to promote the right to mastery, select exemplary and worthy people, representing the will, aspirations and right to mastery of the people.

Organizing consultation and introducing candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies is a very important task in the election organization process, to agree on the structure, composition and number of delegates of agencies, organizations and units to be introduced as candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies, at the same time making a preliminary list and selecting and making an official list of candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels.

At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council presented the expected structure, composition, and number of candidates nominated for the 16th National Assembly and the 16th Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term. Specifically, the total number of elected National Assembly deputies of Ninh Binh province is 19, including 9 deputies recommended by the Central Government, and 10 deputies residing and working in the locality. The total number of elected Provincial People's Council deputies for the 16th term, 2026-2031 term is 85.

After discussion, the delegates voted unanimously that the number of people recommended to run for the 16th National Assembly was 38, of which the Central Government recommended 9 people; the locality recommended 29 people including: 1 key leader, 3 National Assembly delegates of the 15th term, 1 standing member of the Provincial People's Council, 1 representative of the Provincial Party Committee Office, 6 representatives of the National Assembly Delegation and Provincial People's Council Office; 4 representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province; 4 representatives of the Education and Training sector, 4 representatives of the Tourism sector, 4 representatives of communes and wards; 1 representative in the production and business sector. The combined structure of people in agencies and units in the province recommended to run for the National Assembly was 14 women, 7 young candidates (under 40 years old), 3 non-party candidates, and 5 representatives of the 15th National Assembly.

For the 16th term of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, the expected number of candidates is 156, including 20 members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Party Building Committees, the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Newspaper and Radio and Television; 30 members of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee, full-time leaders of the Provincial People's Committee's Committees and the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council; 26 members of the Provincial People's Committee and specialized agencies of the Provincial People's Committee; 17 members of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations; 4 members of the armed forces; 3 members of internal affairs agencies; 44 members of the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of communes and wards...

Regarding the expected structure of candidates for the 16th Provincial People's Council, the proportion of women is 49.4%, candidates under 40 years old account for 27.6%, non-party candidates are 14.1%, candidates who are religious dignitaries are 1.92% and 63.53% of candidates are delegates to the 15th Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026.
