Keeping students in the profession

Having just graduated from the Faculty of Natural Science Education , University of Education (University of Danang) in 2025, Truong Bao Quynh (course 21SKT2) was recruited as a contract teacher under Decree 111/2022 of the Government at Tran Hung Dao Secondary School (Dong Ha Ward, Quang Tri). Quynh said that before that, at the time of university admission, she registered her first choice for Pharmacy at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hue University) but did not have enough points to pass. Natural Science Education was her second choice in order of priority.

After being admitted, Bao Quynh was introduced by her faculty to apply for the school's Inspiration Scholarship Fund. "There were quite a lot of students applying for the scholarship, so I was nervous while waiting for the review. Therefore, when I received the notification that I was on the list of new students of the 2025 enrollment receiving this scholarship, I was very happy and proud; I had more motivation to pursue a teaching career, even though it was not my first choice," Quynh shared.

With a full scholarship of 30 million VND in the first year of study, Bao Quynh has strived to maintain her academic and training results to maintain this special scholarship for the next 3 years of study.

“Thanks to those efforts, right after graduating from school, I was recruited and became a teacher from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. Although I have only been teaching for a short time, the attentive eyes, each curious and exploratory question of the students in each lesson have helped me feel more confident in my career choice,” Quynh shared.

Although he was admitted to Information Technology Education, for Tran Ly Anh Kiet (class 21SPT), it was not his passion. “I am passionate about Information Technology, but I do not have enough points to get into top technical schools. So when I was on the list of recipients of the Inspiration Scholarship, I decided to pursue education and not retake the university entrance exam the following year. Although it was not too difficult financially to go to university, the Inspiration Scholarship, as its name suggests, helped me start thinking seriously and pursue this choice to the end,” Kiet shared.

According to regulations, students majoring in Information Technology, Biology, Natural Sciences and Biotechnology at the University of Education (University of Danang ) are considered for full scholarships of 120 million VND if they maintain good academic results throughout 4 years of study. Later, this scholarship was extended to pedagogical majors in the social sciences and humanities.

Nurturing talent for the education sector

At the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, along with 6 other students of the University of Education (University of Danang), Van Thi Hien Thao - a student majoring in Biology Education was awarded the Vallet scholarship. Thao is one of 20 students receiving the school's Inspirational Scholarships, batch 1 and 2, because in grades 11 and 12 (Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted, Danang City) she won second prize in the city-wide excellent student competition in Biology.

Choosing to study Biology Education as a direct admission, Thao said that if she chose to study Medicine, there would be areas that would not be studied in depth, such as plants or molecules. Meanwhile, Thao wanted to do in-depth research and participate in teaching.

“The Inspiration Scholarship has given me more confidence in the path I have chosen. When choosing a major and a school to apply for, I was hesitant because few people chose to study pedagogy. However, my passion for teaching, combined with information about support policies for pedagogy students, helped me to be more confident in my choice,” Hien Thao shared.

The Inspiration Scholarship for Van Thi Hien Thao is the motivation to maintain her passion for scientific research. Thao won the Second Prize in the 4th Vietnam Student Biology Olympiad, organized by the Vietnam Association of Biology in 2024; the Encouragement Prize at the School-level Student Scientific Research Conference and the First Prize at the Faculty level; and presented a paper at the 6th National Mycology Conference in 2024.

In addition, Thao has two international scientific articles published in prestigious journals in the SCIE (Q2, Springer) and Scopus (Q2) categories, and one domestic scientific article published in 2024 in the field of Education in the scientific journal of the industry.

Similarly, Hanoi National University of Education has established a Fund to support students in disadvantaged areas since 2024. The first 16 scholarships were awarded to 16 ethnic minority students in the school's faculties. Each student receives a scholarship of 1.5 million VND/month from the Fund and this will last until they graduate.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh - former Principal of Hanoi National University of Education, shared his appreciation for students who "leave with the desire to return". There are many students from remote villages, living in extremely difficult conditions, but have done things that seemed impossible to attend university.

The fund accompanies students in disadvantaged areas as a way for Hanoi National University of Education, teachers, friends and society to give ethnic minority students the opportunity to come and bring back good values to their homeland.

The inspirations that are given to students from the first year will help them have enough confidence to confidently step on their learning journey.
