The spread of the work Luc Van Tien in the spiritual life of the Southern people through oral transmission has formed a form of folk performance in the genre of Hat Ke, which the Southern people call Noi Tho Van Tien. Researcher Huynh Ngoc Trang affirmed that "this poetry speaking style was born after the story Luc Van Tien by Nguyen Dinh Chieu and it must have been born when the story Luc Van Tien had become popular and was widely accepted by the public to a certain extent".
According to author Lu Hoi, the forms of spoken poetry in the South were formed from the introduction of waves of migration from the Central region to the South, and spoken poetry probably originated from the spoken poetry in the singing of the spells, the calling of the cards, and the speaking poetry of the Military Quarter. The popularization of the Luc Van Tien poem took place in the form of spoken poetry expressed in a variety of spaces in the life of the Southern community.
Particularly in Ben Tre province (old), Van Tien poetry has a very persistent vitality and spreads widely in the community and became even stronger when Luc Van Tien poetry was printed and released in Quoc Ngu script in 1889.
