President Donald Trump is the first person to receive the FIFA Peace Prize
The draw for the 2026 World Cup finals will take place at 0:00 on December 6 (Vietnam time) at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC (USA). According to FIFA, 48 teams will be divided into 4 seeding pots (12 teams each) based on FIFA rankings. The 3 host teams including Mexico, Canada and the US will be in pot 1 by default, while the 6 teams that pass the play-off round will be in pot 4.
From the four seeding pots, teams will be drawn into 12 groups (from A to L), with each group containing four teams. FIFA also notes that each group cannot have more than one team from the same regional confederation, except for UEFA (Europe), which has 16 teams. But each group can only have a maximum of two teams from UEFA.
Notably, right before the draw, US President Donald Trump was presented with the FIFA Peace Prize by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. This is the first time in history that FIFA has presented this award. At the same time, Mr. Donald Trump also joined Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Mexican President Claudia Scheinbaum to conduct the procedure, opening the draw.

8 most attractive 2026 World Cup groups, France and Brazil face difficulties
According to the draw results, Group C is considered by experts to be very attractive with the presence of Brazil, Morocco, Scotland and Haiti. In the past, the Brazilian team had a very strong force and is currently the team that holds the record for the most World Cup championships (5 times), in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002. As for Morocco, they are in possession of a golden generation and have reached the semi-finals of the most recent World Cup. Meanwhile, Scotland and Haiti also have quite good forces, with an annoying collective style of play in the qualifying round.
Similar to Brazil, the 2022 World Cup runner-up, France, is also in a very strong group. Accordingly, France is in Group I, facing Senegal, Norway and the winner of the FIFA 2 play-off round (Bolivia/Suriname/Iraq).
