Full of Vietnamese sports talents attending SEA Games 33
Today (November 28), the Vietnam Sports Administration announced the decision of the Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration, Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, on the establishment of the Vietnamese sports delegation to participate in the 33rd SEA Games. Accordingly, the Vietnamese sports delegation will go to Thailand with 1,165 members. Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration will be the head of the delegation.

The Vietnam Sports Administration will cover expenses such as international and domestic round-trip airfare, oversized and overweight baggage, food, accommodation, pocket money, communication costs, visa and passport fees, domestic travel costs, office rental, training and competition facilities, etc. according to regulations for 952 members. The remaining 213 members will participate with local fees and socialized funds, etc.

Striving to be in the top of the region
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation competed in 47 events and sub-events with the goal of winning about 90 to 110 gold medals and being in the top group. In the two consecutive SEA Games 31 (2022) and 32 (2023), Vietnam ranked first overall. Previously, Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet directly directed the comprehensive review of the national teams' preparations, accommodation, training and competition conditions when the Vietnamese sports delegation arrived in Thailand (expected on December 7); travel schedule, and seeing off and welcoming the delegations at the airport.
The leaders of the Vietnam Sports Administration pay special attention to the management and use of financial resources, including the state budget and socialized sources. This is a closely directed content to ensure publicity, transparency and efficiency - important requirements in state management of the sports sector.
The leader of the Vietnam Sports Administration emphasized that the 33rd SEA Games is a major sporting event, where the Vietnamese sports delegation carries the expectations of millions of fans. Besides the goal of achieving high results, this is also an opportunity for the country's sports to affirm its mettle, solidarity, will to rise and the beautiful image of Vietnam in the international arena. With that important meaning, the Vietnam Sports Administration determined that the achievements at the SEA Games must be linked to the long-term development strategy of Vietnamese sports. Therefore, the Vietnamese sports delegation not only focuses on the number of SEA Games medals but also focuses on improving their competitive capacity in ASIAD and Olympic sports.
According to the plan, the first Vietnamese sports teams will leave for Thailand on December 1 and the last members will return home on December 21. The 33rd SEA Games will open on December 9 and close on December 20.
