Deputy Head of Chau Thoi Commune Economic Department Nguyen Tan Trang (on the right) visits and assesses the situation of farmers preparing for the 2026 Summer-Autumn rice crop.

Observations in the fields show that farmers have proactively cleaned their fields, prepared the soil, reinforced dikes, and ensured that planting is carried out according to the seasonal schedule.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Em, from Bao Sen hamlet, said: “Currently, my family is urgently preparing the land and water sources, and we expect to sow the seeds in a few days. This season, I am using the OM18 variety because it is less prone to lodging and suitable for our farming conditions.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen, from Tra Hat hamlet, shared that he had prepared to sow 30 acres of ST24 rice, proactively managing everything from seeds to machinery, thus speeding up the process.
