“We are living in a time when all sectors must move towards greening,” Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vina T&T Group, shared with Nong Nghiep and Moi Troi Newspaper about the reason for choosing the eye-catching green color in the space of the 80th anniversary of the industry’s establishment.
Along with the aroma of fresh fruits and delicately processed products, Vina T&T wants to convey a message about green transformation in production, where private enterprises are becoming the nucleus leading change.

Enterprises take the lead in the greening trend
A few years ago, Vina T&T was one of the pioneering enterprises in Vietnam to implement agricultural production according to sustainable standards. Mr. Tung said that when the world first started talking about “green value chains” or ESG standards (environment - society - governance), Vina T&T set its own standards.
“When building the factory, we reserved 2/3 of the area for green space, the rest for construction. That shows our commitment right from the infrastructure stage, that production must go hand in hand with responsibility for the environment,” said Mr. Tung.
Not only in terms of infrastructure, Vina T&T's "green" philosophy is also present in every link of the value chain, from planting, harvesting, processing to exporting. The enterprise aims for a circular economic model, utilizing all by-products in the production process to create new products, both increasing value and reducing emissions.
According to Mr. Tung, green economy and circular economy are irreversible trends. Businesses that want to survive in the long term must proactively shift now. Therefore, green transformation is not limited to environmental obligations, but also a sustainable development strategy. “If we are slow, we will be eliminated from the global supply chain. But if we go ahead, we can become the leader in exporting high-quality agricultural products,” he added.

In more than 2 decades of development, Vina T&T has brought Vietnamese fruits, such as Cat Chu mango, rambutan, longan, Ben Tre coconut, green-skin grapefruit... to more than 20 demanding markets, including the United States, Australia, Canada and Europe. Each export shipment is not only the result of a commercial transaction, but also has a greater meaning.
“When we bring a fruit to the world, we do not think simply about selling it. It is a national mission. Each product that reaches international consumers represents an image of Vietnam: the level of production, the processing capacity, and the prestige of the country,” Mr. Tung shared with pride.
For him, each fruit is an “image” of the country. When international consumers hold a Vietnamese mango that meets USDA or EU Organic standards, they are seeing the efforts of farmers, agricultural engineers, and the entire Vietnamese agricultural management system behind it. “We do not export goods, we export the honor of the country,” he emphasized.
Farmer linkage - the root of sustainability
Every step of Vina T&T starts with the farmers, whom Mr. Tung calls “the roots of Vietnamese agriculture”. The company not only purchases products, but also directly connects with growing areas, transfers technical processes, and guides farmers to achieve international certifications such as GlobalGAP, HACCP or BRCGS.
“If the roots are not strong, the branches cannot grow far. Agriculture is only sustainable when farmers benefit and develop together with businesses,” Mr. Tung confided.

Coming to the exhibition space on the morning of November 12, Vina T&T not only brought key products such as Northern grapefruit, Ben Tre coconut, Southern mango and longan, but also introduced a series of high-value processed products, including juices and dried fruits. All of them demonstrate the direction of "increasing deep processing to increase value and reduce resource waste".
Previously, within the framework of the program “Green Startup Journey to the Export Market”, Vina T&T cooperated with the Center for Business Research and Enterprise Support (BSA) to initiate the “New Agricultural Horizon” Award. The award aims to encourage innovative ideas of young people in the fields of technological agriculture, by-product processing and bioenergy, opening up a new “horizon” for Vietnamese agriculture on the global map.
The award was announced and launched at the Green Startup Competition Final Round in October 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung considers this a natural next step in the journey of greening businesses: “We call it 'Agriculture - the new journey'. There, young, dynamic and green-minded people will join forces to form a new generation of agricultural businesses - knowledgeable, responsible and looking towards the world”.
Currently, Vina T&T is one of the few Vietnamese enterprises licensed to officially export more than 10 types of fruit to the United States. Every year, tens of thousands of tons of Vietnamese-branded agricultural products are brought into international supermarket systems. However, for Mr. Tung, success is not only reflected in export turnover, but also in the formation of a green ecosystem where farmers, businesses and the younger generation benefit and develop together.
“We want to be the ‘leading bird’, but not fly alone. The goal is to lead, call and accompany new birds, so that when Vietnamese agricultural products reach the world, it is not only a commercial story, but also a national pride,” he emphasized.
